If you're an iPhone user, I might be able to help. Is it only this site that causes your battery to drain? Or does your phone drain quicker than usual in general?
Last year my iPhone 6s had battery issues and had to replace it. The battery would drain very quickly after getting to 40% or lower, it would go down by 1% or 2% about every second. Go to settings, battery, and then "battery health". It'll give you a report of your battery capacity, and if it's around 80-70%, it won't be at peak performance.
If that's the case, you'll have to replace your battery, since they degrade over time.

I find if I have my brightness turned up it does due to all the white space on these forums. I turn it down when on this site.

Yeah, try lowering your phone brightness and seeing if that helps.
I'd also recommend you check and see (if you are using cellular and not wifi) if your phone is searching for a wifi signal, that can drain battery pretty quick.
Also check and see if your bluetooth is on. Turning it off also helps conserve power.
And last but not least, double press the home button and swipe away any apps that are running in the background.

It just seems to drain the battery faster than other sites
