Can anyone tell me why they have aken away the ability to color customize your created players Cleats and Fielding glove, sleeve color....etc....?

You do it for your team Colors

My Squad -> Created Player -> Equipment -> Highlight the equipment type and then hit Triangle. Make sure you haven't hit X first to swap out equipment - keep your highlight box at the top row before hitting Triangle. And keep in mind once you equip something new, it will default to your Team Customization colors. You can also 'equip' items for the rating boosts but opt to not show the item in gameplay when you customize that specific equipment type. (e.g equipping a compression sleeve but changing sleeves to 'None' when customizing that item)
