Just had someone dashboard but the hit counted? Did SDS do it!?!?!?
-
Daily mission was 5 xbh online. Lead off dinger with Mantle and 1 of 5 notification pops up. 2nd at bat with Trout and he goes yard as well. Shockingly the game freezes mid flight. Back in the main menu says 2 of 5 completed. Game record says 2 dingers.
Did they FINALLY do it lads!?!?!!?

Last night a guy dash-boarded against me and the hit counted and it gave me a run on the score board, but I didn't get the rbi for the batter. But that's progress
-
I am concerned what this means for the creep who dashboarded my 2 run homer in top of 1st inning with 2nd batter. Where do they go from here?

This would be huge if they did tbh. Its a small thing but it adds up over so many games.

The other player didn’t dashboard then. It was probably a server disconnect. If your opponent dashboards his connection does not exist anymore. If a server disconnects the info still exists on the server which means the stats will count.

That is completely false. Sever disconnects and Dashboards are treated the exact same

I think this happens when the other player is slow to dashboard. Has been going on all year.

No you are completely incorrect. A server disconnect means the server disconnected the info on that server however is backed up that’s why the stats accumulate. When a player disconnects intentionally the connection is no longer there leaving you as the sole player on the server which causes the server to close. I actually do this for a living and know exactly how these systems work. So please know what you’re talking about before being clowned by your ignorance. Have a good day.

Even if this is true, which half of your posts consists of false information anyway so I’m not sure whether to believe you or not, I’ve been playing long enough to know that legitimate server disconnect do not happen on mid flight homeruns. Every legit server disconnect I've ever had in this game has been between plays. The OP’s scenario is a Dashboard

Yup, it's pretty funny. They probably fumbled the controller on the home screen trying to close it on time.

Please illustrate what posts I’ve made that are not true. I’d like to know. Just because someone else says it’s false doesn’t make it false. Just like you saying earlier that what I said was false. Difference is that I actually provide reasoning behind my statements. I reiterate that if someone dashboards their connection no longer exists, its like a light switch where the switch is turned on then the game/connection exists. And when the switch is turned off the game/connection is no longer there, meaning from that point on the game no longer exist. So if it happened mid flight it’s as if it never happened. It is not possible for that stat to count. A server disconnect happens when your connection to the server times out or the server itself somehow becomes corrupt. You can think of a timeout as a light dimmer where the dimmer is you’re ping/latency to the server. When that ping exceeds a certain threshold the server will remove the problem by hanging the phone up or dimming the light. The info on that server will still be there however due to the auto backup that is occurring.

I do love internet arguments. Everyone claims to be an expert, whether they are or not.
Fact of the matter is that nobody outside SDS has any idea how the server and client (The game on the PS4) communicate. I've seen people claim it's peer to peer, and the server is only used for matchmaking. I've seen people say that everything passes from the clients to the server.
There can be assumptions made, but that's really all they are. Anyone who says "I work in _______ field, so I know" is talking out of their you know what. I'm a software engineer, have written games, services, servers, you name it...and I have no idea what architecture they're going with. I can make educated guesses, as can everyone, but that doesn't mean squat.
lol That all being said, I would LOVE if they came up with some way to handle the loss of stats to salty dashboarders. Regardless of how the system is architected, it could be anywhere between "minor challenge" and "complete re-write".
