Anyone believe in the MLB The Show Cover curse? I've heard that players on the covers of these games have lackluster seasons and even injuries, usually the season in which they're featured.
Don't believe in curses or any other such magic.

Do the cover athletes really help sell more copies? I have never considered buying any game just because of the cover. Like to hear others thoughts.
I would say cover athletes usually don’t matter, but I remember a lot of people being excited when Griffey Jr was on the cover back in 17. Obviously that was also linked to him being back in the game, but I think covers with legend players can tip the scale and cause people to jump back in when they may have skipped the year otherwise. Nostalgia can be pretty powerful.
