Speed

Does anybody really value the guys who are more "speed oriented"? I'm talking Ellsbury, Lofton, Madrigal, etc. Are those players useful once you're playing in the higher levels of ranked or do you need a more balanced type of player. I'm asking mainly because I'm very close to my 89 SS cap and deciding between the balanced and fielding. Balanced is obviously well rounded and has great numbers. Fielding has perfect Fielding stats as well as perfect speed stats. Would appreciate some feedback. Thanks in advance.

I play both Lofton and Ellsbury currently. Granted, highest I've been is 700s so I cant speak for above that, but both have sneaky pop along with elite speed. Their speed on D makes up some for their lack of arm strength. I value speed guys to get on base, and then steal. Also, I know any ball in the gap is atleast a 2B and probably a 3B. Both are worth it imo. Hope this helps.

Except for Posada and Babe (who at 1st base isn't that slow with 60) prestige Belli is my next slowest in the mid 80s and everyone else is 90+

I appreciate and strongly consider speed as a deciding factor for who ends up on my teams.
