Pitching confidence
-
I get that pitching confidence is a thing, not sure that I agree how SDS factors it into hitting results.
My perception is that as a pitcher's confidence increases during a game that it gets more and more difficult to get a hit despite the timing/pci placement.
Same goes the other way, if pitching confidence is low yet I execute perfect release a homerun should not result on an early/poorly placed PCI.
I agree with how SDS increases the zone to obtain a perfect release as the pitchers confidence increases during the game. Isn't that enough?
The algorithm to determine outcome appears to put too much weight on the pitchers confidence. Reward pitching confidence with a larger perfect release zone or smaller perfect release zone for decreased pitching confidence.
A perfect/perfect in the 1st inning should have a similar result as a perfect/perfect in the 7th inning after getting blanked for 6 innings.
Or maybe I just have too much time to think about things that really don't matter?
