Can we penalize players who pause often?
-
The most annoying part is that time is added back on as the game progresses. It was a lot better a couple of years ago when it was a straight countdown and there was no time added back on. There is time needed to do position changes and bullpen warm ups/changes, but the player should know their team and what to do in certain situations.

I pause on average 5 or so times per inning because I want to see the pitch selection as the AB continues, that and who's on deck, what's in the hole.
You are a nightmare sir
I mean I don't do it to grief, but if I pull up that list after every few ABs and see im getting the sinker 70% and its strike percentage is 90%, im sitting on that pitch and that pitch alone.
I usually don’t do this before the 3-4th inning, so the sample is bigger. I barely do it anymore, once I’m locked in on the release point, I just focus on mistakes. Or I’ll chase the same pitch over and over to bait the guy.

It’s really not a big deal. If the pauses are “taking up your sweet time” because you only have a certain amount of time to play then you shouldn’t have started a game to begin with

I think another difference is my pauses are 5-10 seconds at most.

Man, that would annoy me to no end. I would engage in a pause-off or R2 fest lol

I R2 for a second or too also to see the previous pitch sequence.

Reason I pause
Use R2 to see the pitches that were use in a previous at bat
My kids
bathroom
change or warmup pitchers
Make a lineup change
Look at opponents bullpen
look at opponents lineup (used for intentional walks)
Not all of these happen every game. -
I get it with bullpen and lineup changes.....but I'm talking about the 2nd inning and you just got back to back to back hits off the guy, or went deep twice and its just constant pausing. I know some of you guys know what im talking about.

Absolutely, lot of people abuse it to get you off your game. It should be the original 3:00, and you get back 5 seconds per inning. If you had to pause for legit reasons, say someone knocking at your door or kid did something it sucks but it’s not often. I’ll even quit when I see I’m wasting someone’s time. But if you abuse or try the friendly quit with timer expiring, maybe you’ll be stuck with a tired arm for a couple of innings. They should cap bullpen and PH quick pause at 15 seconds.

People pause it is what it is. I complained alot at first, but then found if they drain their clock down to one second, they can't pause the game again and it gives you the option to forfeit their game. Some people do it just to annoy you because their having a bad day. But if you are patient enough, it's a free win.

I get it. It's a viable strategy to help you win games. Personally I just couldn't imagine caring about a video game THAT much.
But hey, to each their own.

Some people aren't competitive man and that's fine.
