Regarding MLB The Show 20, does anyone know once we rebrand a team if the retired numbers from the former franchise reset and allow us to assign to new players?

Wow, great question. I honestly hadn't thought of that. I will bet not.

I would guess there wouldn’t be a reset as the Franchise itself hasn’t changed, it’s just that the MLB team has moved to a different city.

That would be the real-world justification. The technical justification would be that it is probably extra coding and testing to reset them, if indeed certain jersey numbers are off-limits already in the game.

It would be nice for them to take it into consideration. We need as much customization as possible and jersey numbers are an important aspect of all sports but baseball in particular.

The only number I've noticed being restricted from use is 42 for Jackie Robinson uses

If you look up the retired numbers for each team you’ll notice you can’t assign them when you edit or create a player for that particular team.
