Overall..... Do betterCurious what your ratings for the FIFA franchise look like? Theres a reason that FIFA 20 is in the bottom 10 of all time for user reviews on Metacritic. FIFA rated a 1.1 and Madden 20 rated a 1.5 by users.
FIFA 20 may be one of the worst AAA sports games of all time. Madden 20 was not a terrible game. Was not a good game but not on the same level as FIFA 20 in the 1.1/1.5 rating range. FIFA 20 is near unplayable, Madden is playable, just not fun.
Fifa is why I made this thread. I just spent about 1.6 million on packs because the game is dead (seems like they just gave up). Knowing I was going to pull nothing. I didn't pull anything over 88. EA just seemtone-deaf and unlike SDS seem to relish in mocking their audience. SDS also seems to know how to communicate effectively, while EA seems incompetent.
They have no communication at all. We went 4 months without a promo this year and not a word about it. No email, Skype, twitch or Twitter

Mut guy here too.... I agree content is better here. There are so many ways to get different top tier cards without spending money and i love the card collecting aspect as opposed to power ups. I hate that in mut to have the best version of a player I need every version of him , a PU , and a bunch of training to get it. Gameplay in both games is pretty bad... but I think the poor servers and weird things that happen here give MUT an edge in H2H play. The EA servers literally never lag and the DC glitch people say happens daily to them is not even really a big thing.... In 200 H2H games last year I had 2 losses due to disconnect and that's not bad at all.
This game doesn’t use servers in the manner you are speaking. This game use a peer to peer based matchmaking system/engine. Meaning there is a host and you are beholden to that hosts connection. Similar to the old COD based system before they implemented dedicated servers to eliminate nefarious hosts who could manipulate their connections to determine outcomes. It’s a much less expensive route than dedicated servers.

Yeah, that was really tough to read. I get what you are saying and looking at stats might give you an upper hand when it comes to a video game.
For what it's worth, I played college baseball not sure what level you stopped at. But it is very comical and something that grinds my gears when a game that says it's a sim still can't fix simple thing of having a DH in an American League game. The rule has been in place since the 1970s.
What is even more baffling is how fast content is pushed out. I see the community loves SDS/Free Packs and I should have known this that there will be a lot of fanboys here with the game being so late in the lifecycle. The free stuff is to save this year from the horrible online gameplay, lack of communication during the Spring, and the botched moments.
But hey, everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

Just to be clear this game has never had a DH ever and for a good reason, the game wants you to have to make choices that will affect the game. Such as sacrificing defense for offense and vice versa. When you have to strategize around the pitcher hitting it makes the game more interesting. DH allows you to sit a weak defender and allow him to only hit. They want you to have to make that choice which could impact the game you play. It’s not a case of them not understanding the nuances of the game it’s simply to make you have to make choices.

As far as horrible online gameplay, that’s completely subjective. I agree there are some trolls that make online play not enjoyable at times and you can choose to deal with it or quit. I choose to deal with it because generally speaking I’m a much better player than they are and I will win 9.5 times out of 10 and it much more satisfying to beat the snot out of them playing straight up and not cheesing everything than to let them win because they have irritated me. But online play is this way across the spectrum of online games. Every game has their trolls.

Well... it shouldn't be called sim without following the actual mlb rules. The game should be DH in all American league parks. You should also at least be able to set multiple batting orders with your same 25 man roster. It is wicked dumb that you can only use one lineup and be clueless if your facing a lefty or righty until your already locked in. It should at the very least show me LHP or RHP before or during the screen where you can move around your batting orders right before the game loads. Not being able to set a lineup in baseball is not sim whatsoever.... mlb teams alter their batting orders and lineups almost daily in real life. To say no DH is to force you to make choices is ridiculous... the only choice is when to ph for my pitcher.

It's 100% sim in modes outside Diamond Dynasty. Much better balance for the mode to adjust rules to a fantasy card game. If you are looking for pure sim, play online franchise.

So who calls it a sim. I call it a video game. I think we get lost in semantics. SDS does not market the game as a sim. A sim would suggest that it is used to train a professional to do their job in the real world such as a flight simulator or a combat simulator that might be used in the military or law enforcement ranks to simulate a chaotic or stressful situation or environment. I, however, don’t believe this game is being used by any pro teams to train their players. So let’s just stop using that term if we’re going bastardize the goal of the game.

That 1.6 million could have made 10+ TOTY SBCs and another 10+ Icon Moments SBS lmao. Could have made an all 95+ Team with those coins you wasted not knowing how fifa works. Not to mention 1.6 million coins currently buys you Messi Ronaldo, Neymar, a full TOTSSF back line midfield and keeper with a million left over so WTF are you talking about?
I’m assuming you didn’t unlock any icons in the fut swap either? Who wants Ronaldinho and Zidane lolllll

I think you cared if you took the time to comment. It's ok, some people are just video game baseball players. I am not knocking it but if you took the time to comment, you should have referred above and saw the person try to discredit my point by saying I was bad at the game? That is cringy.

Being better than EA is hardly a bar one struggles to get over
Absolutely agree but I have to give sds a little credit for making it pretty easy to field a competitive squad without spending money or devoting your life to the game. Between the innings programs, player programs and xp reward path there are some really nice cards that are easy to attain. Fielding an nms madden team is work and sometimes the solo grinds are absurd for how bad the rewards are. The fact that some of maddens xp rewards are unlocking the ability to purchase a $20 pack that most like won’t yield anything particularly valuable/useful is pretty insulting

I guess I used the word sim wrong then. I should say the game should be like baseball. Either way... no DH and cant setup a batting order around the pitcher your facing is unrealistic as it gets imo. Since it's not sim... we should just add exploding baseball's and spiked bats then. I'm sure I'm not in the minority to want a baseball game to at least attempt to be like baseball. RS should be with real baseball rules and the more arcade modes are the showdowns, events, battle royal. The big thing I cant get over about this game is the strategy of making lineups and tweaking batting orders to your strengths against certain pitchers is not even in the 9 inning game mode of DD

Eh. Lol. Hhmmm. Uuummm.
No.
Content is nice but gameplay is the problem with this series. Unfortunately, this franchise will never be better than EA's MVP Baseball or SNES Ken Griffey Jr. baseball.
This game tries to be a SIM but can't even do simple things correct. Look at moments, in an AL game the pitchers are hitting.
Simple things like that is the shortcomings of this series.
You're comparing this to Madden where everyone cheeses the same three plays, SDS wins. Maybe the new AI features help but H2H being cancer and content nonexistent is exactly why I've been here since release and not playing Madden even though I love football.

Lastly, are we not going to talk about how the "free" packs are becoming smaller, smaller, and smaller. I mean it's a great marketing plan to say you are giving free packs when you only get 4 players in a pack. Now, let's see how many free agents you can receive.

MLB the Show has literally gone in the path as 2K. How many different versions of the same player are we going to get?
I'm sorry streamers/partners/fanboys, I just have to be honest.
