Will you keep playing The Show after Madden drops?
-
I feel like I am addicted to The Show lol I've played year round for probably the last 4 years or so but I've already kind of stopped playing for NHL 20 so id imagine when Madden and 2k come out I'll play even less and when the new system comes out stop completely until The Show 21 arrives. But who know maybe I can kick this bad habit lol
-
madden sucks hardcore ill never stop playing this game until next years game drops its the only game i buy and play
-
I'll be out on The Show once Madden and 2kGolf drops. I love the show, but typically don't play games that aren't in season. That will be a little different this year with baseball running into November, but I'll still probably transition to Madden in August. I'm actually good online in Madden compared to the Show where I only play online if I absolutely have to.

I'm a much bigger NFL fan, but you can't even call Madden a football game, because it doesn't play like football if Tres Way is the best QB in the game and nobody passes. It's sort of a rugby/football hybrid game with an NFL skin.
I agree with your general message but you took one year and extrapolated it to the game in all years. Name a year, other than M20, where you could win a game with a punter at QB. I will wait.
What a horrible defense. Considering the most efficient event installment of the game did not even include the quarterback position, what they've done in the past is irrelevant. It's not a football game.
Bad deflection. Clearly you cannot answer the question. I can come up with many examples of trash madden gameplay without resorting to "Punter at QB" for a single year.

Not trashing The Show, It’s fine...I personally just think Madden is a way better game & once it drops I’m done with this game until next year. Just curious if others keep playing the show or drop it like I do?
to each their own mate, i think madden is a joke of a game absolute trash so my answer is the Show yea

Are trap plays still super OP?

For 20 years at least i was the same way, only playing what was in season. But then they couldn't make college football anymore or college basketball. So it was madden and the show, but madden just doesn't appeal to me anymore, game play isnt great and MUT isnt as good as DD. So even when i am done with DD, i wont bother with Madden. I love football, but i dont like Madden. I got 18 to play a league with my friends, it fizzeled out in 10 weeks. I won SB because it was just me and 2 other dudes left.

Madden has RNG and its a money pit.. No
-
UFC and PGA have my attention - trying to get Ruth before Friday, and will probably take a hiatus to play those games.
Not a Madden fan anymore.

Instead of responding to each person piling on the “dude won with a punter at QB” bandwagon, I’ll just post one response to all...First off, He didn’t win because of an OP running game. He won because he played absolutely phenomenal defense. He shut the other guy completely down & shut him out. He was so good on defense that he only ran the ball to avoid throwing a costly pick or the QB fumbling on a sack - basically don’t do anything to let the other guy get any cheap points. He didn’t run wild. He scored 14 points on offense & punted several times. He played throwback football is what he did. That tournament was also a salary cap tourney so he chose to use his best picks on defense & it paid off. I don’t think it’s cool that people minimize his achievement. What he did was amazing & will be looked back as legendary. The game isn’t broken nor is gameplay bad. The champ simply played to his strength of defense and chose to run a conservative offense to not risk any turnovers. I honestly think people in here haven’t watched the game & are just piling on what one person said.
If you like the show better - That’s fine! I don’t care. I just was curious if anybody else was jumping ship is all lol.

I think I am out after Madden drops. No good knuckleballers all year.
And if that’s why you’re leaving then my opinion, that I’m sure will be shared by many here is, see ya don’t let the door hit you on the back side on your way out cheeseball!!! One cheeser down, now we just need the other toxic players to exit stage left. I know it won’t happen but it’s nice to dream.
Talk about toxic. Good thing I don't give a rats a** about your garbage opinion. The knuckleball has a history in MLB. I am sure you are ok with high sinkers and starters out of the pen. Bottom line is there is no need to attack someone who has a different opinion.

I stopped playing Madden years ago, MLB the Show is the best sports game imo. It has its flaws but I love Baseball and the Show is the game.

Talk about horrendous gameplay Madden + Fifa top the list. I'll play whatever I feel like right now it's this nothing else remotely has my interest gaming wise.

I couldn't agree more... also I don't give my money to 2K either LOL

Madden is booooooty

To answer your question- Heck no I'm not jumping to Madden, it's gotten worse every year starting with '17, content used to run until a week before the new title launched, now new content ends in April next year or the year after content will end after the Super Bowl. We didn't even get MUT staples like Position Heroes or Summer Blockbusters. MUT is a sinking ship I jumped off of in '19 and I wish more would do the same. Until EA feels it in their wallet it's only gonna get worse but EA has people like op who year after year keep running to EA with their wallets open and eyes/ears closed, no thanks. DD>>MUT especially for NMS players, this is my first year playing, I can't hit for [censored] but the team I've already put together just playing the game and not working the auction house would easily cost me a few hundred dollars on MUT or at least several days of my life just working the auction house. MUT just isn't fun anymore but hey you do you and have fun with with it.

Yeah the knuckleball has a long history of being a gimmick. How many Hall of Famers feature that pitch, please tell me how many. I can count one and he is called a knuckleballer because he had one in his arsenal but it wasn’t used like how Wakefield used his or that trash Steven Wright used his. Niekro has other plus pitches. So again, in this game it’s a cheese pitch used by people who don’t want to learn to pitch with normal pitchers. Btw I love it when someone uses them, I kill knuckleballers. It just cheese junk to imho and many others will say the exact same thing!!!

People aren't minimizing what he did. He exploited an unrealistic game by min maxing his team to the game's lack of focus on realism. Equivalent would be guys in the summer circuit not drafting pitchers to maximize their hitting and pitching with position players. Unrealistic and would not work in the show. This is the foundation of what everyone is saying. It's not a simulation game. I'll take the RNG over the paper, rock scissors e-book gameplay of Madden.

First off dipsh*t there are at least 4 HOF pitchers who primarily threw the knuckleball: Hoyt Wilhelm, Ted Lyons, Jesse Haines and Phil Niekro. Niekro's primary pitch was the knuckleball. That's the reason he pitched into his late 40s. Lastly you have a lot of posts talking about sinkers. You know that the repeated throwing of high sinkers is the biggest exploit in this game. So looks like you are one big ol hypocrite.

I have played madden since super Nintendo and until last year, was the only game I played and would play straight through. I just started playing this a little last year to give myself a couple months break from Madden.
Its tough to compare the two as they aren't the same sport. Matchmaking is much better in the show, community is better in the show. The big complaint I have with the show is h2h needs major work... the comeback logic makes the game unrealistic. I feel like in Madden I control my own destiny in h2h where in the show I feel like the difficulty is wildly inconsistent. I will be back on madden at release this year, but enjoyed playing the show the last couple months.
