I don't play Madden. I'm wondering how you can compare the two and say one is a better game? It's an entirely different sport.
It’s not sport vs sport, It’s the structure of MUT vs the structure of DD....MUT is way better in so many ways. Just a few examples...
You can earn tons of coins every week just playing the weekly modes - Solo battles & Weekend League...The Show doesn’t offer anything like that. In the show unless you’re a great player that can go 12-0 or make WS or spend tons of time working the market you’re not gonna make a lot of coins easily.
In MUT most good players have a power up card that starts as around a 70 overall that you can spend training on to build them up to a high 90’s card. In DD you are completely at the mercy of what SDS drops to you.
In MUT you can increase your team’s attributes by adding different types of chemistry to the team, stadiums, uniforms & coaches.
And the gameplay...You don’t have the RNG that you have in the show. The only RNG is when non user controlled players like a offensive tackle & a pass rusher are fighting.
All right let's break it down!
SDS made it extremely easy to earn stubs in DD. I haven't worked the market much this year in comparison to previous years and not only do I have Mantle, but I'm very close to Trout as well. Those 3 free 99s from the last few programs? Yeah man they'll gift you 100k in stubs.
CAPS needed a change and what they currently have is imo just fine. Far superior to feeding him people. Also did you forget they had some "rookie to prime" player programs? Carlos Gonzales, Jackie Robinson, Pudge, ect...
You also can't customize your uniforms. Simultaneously you have Inside Edge that works as that same role, while yes it only affects LS cards, its there. Not to mention you can do this with several players with Prestige. This is also a counter point to what you said regarding "power ups".
Okay this is where I laughed the hardest. Let's make some comparisons!
MLB sees you fielding 9 players, and controlling at most 4 simultaneously. The player you control is based on where the ball travels.
When fielding, 4 players are involved in a single routine and that's only with a relay. Interactions with each player are exchanged when the ball is in the air, so between throws control changes. You throw from LF to SS. You control the LF, SS AI sets the alignment, you gain control halfway through the throw and can start your next throw if needed.
You are never out of control aside from AI positioning. Baserunning has more AI control but thats just so it makes baserunning a tad easier and less complex. You still have majority control, even of individual runners.
Madden sees 11 players per team, 22 Players engaged on every single play. Your result on almost every single play is almost entirely composed of RNG. Why is this? Because you only control 1 player.
Your O-Line is 100% AI driven, and every play is dependent on whether or not they hold up their blocks, open gaps, or protect your QB.
You snap the ball, hope for good RNG from your O-line. Here comes the biggest user-input from your QB. Where are you going to throw the ball? This is dependent on your opponents defensive AI RNG. At this point before you even throw the ball at least 20 interactions have occured that are all 100% AI and RNG driven. You can control their movements pre-snap, but after that ball is snapped, you only control 1 player.
So throw the ball to Hopkins, but he has Darius Slay covering him. You control Hopkins, he controls Slay. Coverage ends up tight because your QBs RNG forces a throw off target, and now you have to go for an aggressive catch. Roll the dice cause your opponent is doing the same.
This happens on every play. Madden is 90% AI driven. A guy literally won a tournament with a punter as QB because he did nothing but exploit AI and ran the ball. Madden is a game of animations and RNG and you have 0 control over either of these two things.
If I'm wrong, please state where, how and what really happens.

Yes and no. I'll keep playing MLB 20 after Madden drops. Then I'll quit playing it. Probably sometime next year... which is after Madden drops.

Sorry you spent your evening typing all that but for me it’s real simple...In the show the ball off the bat doesn’t react the way it should based off the feedback nearly enough whereas in Madden the play unfolds as myself & the opponent’s user input dictates.....Yes, The oline vs the pass rush is RNG but that’s ok because sometimes the pass rusher gets an insta shed & other times the tackle picks him up. I’m fine with that, It’s realistic. Just my opinion but I’ve never blamed RNG for costing me a game in Madden whereas I do it all the time in The Show.

I’m done with Madden (MUT) and it feels pretty good.

Sounds like you are not playing DD correctly, because like others have said, this almost sounds like a troll.
If you are mentioning ‘power ups’ you are missing the point of Diamond Dynasty being about playing with baseball cards.
PS. I used to buy Madden and The show Every year. 18 was my last madden, and I could only play it for about a month because it was so terrible.
-
My name maybe NFLman, and i love football way more than baseball, but MLBTS >>>>>>> Madden.
Now if they would drop an NCAA game, I would be tempted. But i will play DD until they stop putting out new content, then i will play franchise
-
I’ll drop this game when fifa releases, I like the show and all but I’ve grown up playing fifa and even though the gameplay is dog, it’s content is great and the new icons have me excited
-
Thinking about spending $1200 on this game and getting skinned alive by my wife

Dude I laughed my [censored] off at this. Been a long time MUT player and first time DD player. Madden sux bro. The whole upgrade process is beyond expensive and an 85 CB still catches up to a 99 receiver. Don’t get me started with online. Have you played weekend league. All they do is run 2 plays all game no skill what so ever. DD is all skill. If you can’t hit ain’t no magic stretch play will make you better. Enjoy the cheese I’m staying here
-
MUT 20 sucked this year. They basically only did content for 8 months. I have really enjoyed my first year of the Show. If I play MUT this year I'm not spending a dime on it
-
I'll play MLB daily until 2k and FIFA come out. I'll still play MLB after that, it will just be a lot less. Hop on and and play a couple RS games here, stash some stubs for a couple finest packs and maybe do a player program or two depending on who is released.

No offense man but if you can’t stop someone running stretch run over & over then you’re obviously not a very good online player. That works on subpar players but good players will shut that down quickly. That’s ok though - MUT isn’t for everyone. Enjoy DD.
-
Well, I'm not a football fan, not do I have any understanding of it, so I will be sticking with The Show.

Wait didn't some dude just win the Madden tournament just running stretch?
Was he playing subpar players? Nope he was playing the top tournament players and he crushed them.
The dude didn't even have a QB taking snaps.
You just nuked your whole thread. -
I used to play Madden religiously. That game is straight garbage now. EA has done this to their two biggest sports titles; Madden and FIFA. Every single thing they do is designed to get people to drop more money into the game. Terrible company rated as one of the worst each year, and they deserve it.

You just nuked your whole thread.Actually no...He ran more dive than stretch but his ability to cut back with Sayers is what he has his most success doing. But he actually won because of his defense - Watch that championship game...Dude absolutely smothered him.
And nuke what? My thread is asking if people plan on still playing this game after Madden drops.

No, Madden is worse than MLB lol. I will occasionally play Fortnite but that is it
