Can we make the top cards actually difficult to get?
-
Would there be anything wrong with making the best cards actually take some semblance of skill to get? I thought the whole point of all the 99s was to have different lineups from player to player. But everyone has Mantle; everyone has Trout; everyone has Walker; and like half the people I've played have Ruth already. Not to mention that everyone has the same bullpen.
Why aren't the TOP cards WS and battle Royale rewards? It's boring to face basically the same lineups every game once you hit HoF difficulty because SDS doesn't have the balls to make people earn things.

Sorry, but this doesn't even make any sense. The majority of top cards are BR rewards and World Series rewards. There are a lot of cards added so how would they add them all as rewards for BR and World Series. You do have to earn a lot of these rewards also. Getting Babe Ruth and Larry walker take time. You aren't just given a free pack with their name on it because you just bought the game. Not everyone has 12 hours a day to try and make it 12-0 and World Series every time.

This is in any game... people want to use the best cards, kinda makes sense. Mantle and Ruth were a grind... I dont have either of them. The guys who spent all that time grinding them deserve them for their time invested. You sound like one those guys that sit home 8 hours a day and play videogames, because time isn't easy to spare for everybody... Ruth was 12 hours of moments.... anybody who played 12 hours of that is committed to the grind 100%. I couldn't spend that kinda time playing mindless moments for Ruth. It might be EASY for you, but for some sitting home grinding is impossible.

If they made the top cards only available as BR and WS rewards, people could still buy them. Then you would complain that stub buyers have the same advantage as the best skill players. The way they do it is perfectly fine.

I buy the game, play a mix of modes and, frankly, want to play with the best cards. I don’t need to compete at a high level to have interest in playing with certain cards, be it ranked or conquest. Maybe it sucks for all the high-end players out there. But us lower tier guys should have access to baseball legends and have our fun too. It would be silly of SDS to only cater to the best of the best.

That's the actual general concensus? 12 hours? Thought it would be much faster. Haven't tried them due to grinding events and won't till tonight

How are the topps card good?? lol I have never seen one in any persons line up.... you're crazy bro

Topps cards help you complete the Trout collection

30 - 3 inning games on Allstar vs each MLB's teams best
8 - 6 inning games on HOF vs each divisions best + AL/NL best
1 - 9 inning game on HOF - against MLBs bestAll teams are based on best available cards for that team released in DD. So for example Baltimore has the players league Dwight smith in LF, HRD Cal, Awards Machado, FOTF Mancini, etc.
They take some time especially if you're like me and find yourself constantly going past the 3 inning mark. I think the 3 inning games take 15-20 mins each personally.

Its called engagement,
If you locked all the best card behind a skill wall that only a small segment of the player base can achieve then you would lose engagement from the player base and they would move on costing SDS to lose revenue.
This is basic business so to answer you question if SDS has the stones to make the change, the answer is no because it would be a horrible business decision and has nothing to do with what someone is carrying between their legs.

Nah, this is just fine. Thanks

Maybe this is your first year of playing DD? Last year many of these cards were very difficult (or very expensive) to get. SDS does a great job of making previously hard to get cards more accessible the following year. Next year, Mantle will be a big offline collection reward or an inning boss. It's a great way to reward great players with cards one year, and allow everyone the opportunity to use them the following year.
A perfect example is Babe. Last year he was a late season WS reward. This year you have to grind against the computer for 15+ hours to get him.
Last year Vlad Sr. was a massive grind against the computer, this year he's a reward for the top players.
If you have a better system, feel free to suggest it. I find approaching problems you see with a solution gets you farther in life than simply complaining with no solution in sight.

For anyone starting out, Topps Now are probably going to crack the lineup since they can be acquired free after a couple of moments.
