I know it's been asked so many times, but I play on a huge 50" TV. I am slightly above average hitting wise, but I want to be even better.

Do monitors really elevate your game like people say? What do they help with the most -- tracking pitches in?

Last question: what is the best monitor to go with that is affordable THANKS!

I wouldn’t necessarily say they elevate your game but they do significantly improve lag time and make catching up to fastballs easier. I’ve found it to make a big difference and glad I made the move.

Cool. What kind do you use?

A monitor won't make you a better hitter, I'm going to lead with that.

If you swing at pitches in the dirt now, a monitor won't fix that.

But what a monitor does is minimize input lag (the time it takes from you pressing X until the batter actually swings the bat on screen) and response time (the smoothness and perceived speed of the pitch coming in)

A monitor gives your eyes the most up to date information possible, and has the most immediate impact when you do decide. Basically, your decision making window is increased.

TL;DR - yes, a monitor is worth it.

This. If you expect that switching from a monitor will make you the next mcgunski, you got it wrong. But it does improve lag time and can help if you are having trouble.

Best I can say is on a tv in mlb 17-18 without game mode, I made 500s, last year till September on a Samsung tv with game mode, made 800s. October bought a monitor and have made WS ever since and have beat a few top 50 players. I’m sure me playing the games over the years has helped improved, but I also know a monitor or even game mode has helped too

I bought a Samsung gaming monitor that cost about $115. Not knowing how much it would make a difference prevented me from getting a more expensive model. But honestly it’s been great and works incredibly well. If I continue playing throughout the year and into next year I’ll upgrade knowing that it does actually make a difference

Any cheap 100 dollar monitor will be enough to boost your batting average. You'll be able to hit fastballs much easier. try to get at least 27 inch though. the 24s are too small.

PSA if you're looking: check out pawn shops. I've bought two pre owned monitors and have had no issues.

    AOC G2460PF: $40
    BenQ Zowie RL2455: $43
