I don't understand challenge

I have had a challenge several times including twice in my last game that I don't understand. I was pitching with my SP when I got the challenge"execute your pitch on time and get an out". The first time I got a strike out and failed the second time I got a pop up for an out and failed. so what the hell does this challenge mean and how do I not fail?

I've had similar experiences. I believe in order to complete this challenge you have to get perfect on the throwing meter, or whichever form of pitching interface you use. If you are getting perfect releases when you do this then the challenge is probably glitched.

I don't use meter I use classic so that meter thing should not have anything to do with it.
