Yastrzemski speed rating

The guy runs in the 77th percentile! He covers CF well. Why does he only have a 56 speed rating?! He’s running faster than Realmuto this season...

how do the even determine speed? I mean acuna is one the fastest guys ive ever seen running from 1st to home but only has 86 spd. Why? why isn't he at least a 95? I really have no idea how they come to determine what speed they put on players.

Speed ratings are based off of this list and pretty much only this list . LS speed ratings are the single most accurate attributes in this game IMO

https://baseballsavant.mlb.com/sprint_speed_leaderboardI disagree. Acuna from 1st to home is faster than the guys above them. How do they even know that as most of them haven't even played enough to have a sample size good enough to know how fast they are? Now accelleration is different. Those guys may be able to get from 1st to 2nd faster as they can get to top speed faster but i don't think their top speed is higher.

Did you even read the explanation at the top? Its most feet/second in a players FASTEST one second window. I’ll think I’ll take the people whose job it is to analyze these statistics over someone who clearly has some Acuna bias at hand here. Acuna is fast, but 86 seems right.

I don't have acuna biases. I actually think several players are under represented but Acuna was the fastest i could think of. Yes i read the report and again it looks more like an acceleration test. I don't think its a fair rep for pure speed. And again several of those players have very limited sample size.
