I kike this idea. Wonder if that would give a small deterrent to boosting?

That's different though, you're looking at a match-up and evaluating it, and not starting a game, falling behind and quitting because you don't like the result, so that's not a big deal, you're not even invested in the game neither is the other player.... I can respect that...

This is an interesting thought process considering someone quitting halfway through is doing the same thing. What I think the problem is you don't win a ton so when you finally get to beat up on someone you want them to stick around more to stroke your own ego to be able to say to yourself "Yea! I'm so good! I just mercy ruled that dude! Go me!" both of the quitting situations end up with the same result except one strokes your ego less...

So just to be clear, you’re ok with someone seeing a record at the beginning and thinking “I have no chance I’m going to just quit right away”
But not ok with
“Man this guy might beat me but I’m going to give it a try, nope he’s shown he’s much better than me I’m going to quit to play someone more my level, good try though”
That’s what you’re saying?

For someone so against quitters it's really weird to see "yea I'm ok with trying to cherry pick matchups instead of trying to play against better competition to get better"

So you'll forgive me when I say that this attitude of yours seems ego driven, because right now something doesn't add up.

Quitting can be a logical and tactical decision.
If I'm losing against an opponent I cant seem to do well against or hit, I have to consider how to best use the time I have available to play this game and achieve what I want each day. If I need to knock dailies out, quitting is a perfectly logical choice so I can try to knock said dailies out before I have to wrap it up for the day.
This can also be true of RS and events in general. If my goal is to win event games, I'm not gonna waste my time if I cant hit my opponent and hes scored a bunch of runs. Time wise, I'm better off backing out and going to the next game. Its that simple. Sure a comeback could happen, but is it even worth the time?

Obsoletely no problem, because nothing is invested in the game... These match-ups are random and sometime off balance, if someone doesn't like a particular match-up and they ask for a friendly that's different because the game hasn't even started yet...

I think it was in an older 2k game or maybe even going way back to the ea sports NBA live days, but one of those used to show your opponents quit percentage in the menu screen. I like that idea so you can just exit out if they had a high percentage of quits and look for another person to play.

That's not a bad idea, I don't think there should be a penalty but I think that's a good compromise. On the other hand I think there should be a penalty for dashboarding. At 1st I didn't care, I was just happy with the wins, but yesterday every single RS game I played I got dashboarded and I had 1 guy quit to prevent me from throwing a perfect game. It's actually getting very hard to accumulate these prestige stats because the only games I get to play to the end are against the really tough opponents in the really close low scoring games. As soon as I'm up 2 or 3, mid homerun... dashboard middle finger. I say give a 30 min. cooling off penalty for db'ng. Just quit when you have control again, why is it that hard?

I would agree, a penalty for dashboarding seems appropriate considering the stats count towards prestiging cards this year. It was a good idea how they showed the quit percentage, I liked it. They could just show you who you're playing in a RS game and indicate their quit percentage on the screen where you select your pitcher. That way you can still exit out without penalty if the person you're matched up with has an unreasonably high quit percentage.
