That is a huge suspension for a shortened season (about 20 games in a normal season!), but I was just watching the Rockies/A’s game and one of the announcers made a good point. It lead to a benches clearing situation where 60 guys were all up in each others’ business, and that’s exactly the kind of situation MLB is trying to avoid.
-
I agree it’s bad but I think it’s more making him a scapegoat to keep people from throwing at the Astros. I’m sure when the benches cleared and everyone got together manfred had a heart attack after what’s going on with the marlins lol

Took one for the league

The really odd thing is, if you were watching the game, he was really having a hard time finding the zone. He wasn't even close. As a Dodger fan watching a close game against the hated Astros, it was making my stomach turn.
It did not seem intentional by any stretch. It felt more like a tragic case of the Yips.

Are you serious? You have obviously never played a high level of baseball. It was absolutely intentional. The count was 3-0 and Kelly just said F it I’m making a point. He is a profession pitcher and regardless of if he was “off” that wild of a pitch on a 3-0 count was intentional.

So you clearly didn't watch the entire inning which was my original point? You just saw the highlights, love the Giants, and have a skewed opinion with limited information. (You wouldn't happen to be a Trump supporting anti-masker, would you? I recognize that smell anywhere.)
You're right, I only play on Rookie. I guess I'll entertain your Ego with what it really wants: And what high level of baseball did you play?..
Drum Roll

Worth it. Astros are trash.

Actually watched the game. Yes I love the Giants but also grew up loving the Big Red Machine. My opinion isn’t skewed because I know the game (the real game not the video game) and no I’m not a tree hugging liberal that likes to be taxed to death. Don’t worry about the level I played at but it was higher than D1 college Rookie

Simple, Kelly has a history of being a headhunter and throw in all his antics in that inning trying to stir up trouble, well you got what you deserved. Also love how is so tough talking [censored] as he walks into the dugout, that little skinny man, really?
-
Dude F the Astros!! They deserve whatever happens to them in the future!! Bring on the beanballs!!! F’n cheating losers!!!
-
I have more respect for EVERYONE that juiced than I do the cheating scumbag Astros!!

Rather be a skinny man than known as a player that cheated to be a part of a World Series winning team

I don't have a problem with what Kelly did, but generally I think there needs to be more self-policing in baseball, similar to hockey. 99% of the time (Kelly is the exception) I have a problem with a pitcher throwing 90mph+ at a guy 60 feet away from him while the batter has no recourse. I think that if you throw at a batter, then (and only then) the batter should be able to charge the mound unobstructed. This will significantly cut down on intentional hit batsmen as pitchers will no longer be a protected class.
Obligatory Nolan Ryan/Robin Ventura knuckle sandwich.

MLB should have done something about the Astros players for cheating if they wanted to avoid this situation

Then suspended Correa for starting the bench clearing and brought everyone together
