Anyone else just sell and not get trout

I have been collecting cards for today all year. In fact, getting this card was more important to me than getting mantle. But, I had a feeling that I wasn’t going to have enough today to get him today and I was right.
So, instead i collected all of my non sell cards and got 8 BIAH packs. Then, I sold every card that could eventually be gotten from a pack. So, I didn’t sell any event rewards or inning rewards. I didn’t sell any of the do cards either.
By the time I was done, I went from around 50k to over a million stubs. Then I pulled TROUT from one of the BIAH packs.
Anyone else go with this strategy?

I mean, if your ultimate goal is collecting EVERYONE, it's not a bad strategy. Thanks to speculation, prices for all the non BR/WS cards will never be higher than they were earlier today.

I would love to be able to collect everything, but I don’t think I have it in me. I haven’t done any flipping this year. So, everything was just from playing.

Yes, I went all in during the Flash sale and between yesterday and today have 1,607,139 stubs. I held on to some cards I really like but sold off all the stuff I was hoarding for “Honus.”

I got Trout and sold a bunch of cards lol. I wish I got more during flash sales and what not. And I REALLY wish I could sell my postseason Damon and Andruw cards for more than 30K. There's a cap there for some reason.

I didn't prepare in advance at all, but when I looked at the reward and saw it was Trout with mediocre stats I laughed and watched the costs climb. As the numbers plateaued at the top I sold off everything I had and walked away with an extra 500k.
Super happy with my decision.

I pretty much went all in on the flash sales around the 4th. So, I made 20k or more on some of the headliners. Now, I’m just gonna wait for the next flash sale and see where I am. I’ll get the trout card eventually, but it might take a month or so.

I had 380k in stubs and after I saw the collection reward was slightly better Trout,I sold like a wild man. (I already have Mantle)And after selling off a bunch of cards I’ll never use I ended up with 1.8 Million stubs!

I invested in 2 Daniel Murphy's but no one's buying them. His price is not going up as high as many of the other ones are.

I was able to get Trout, sell off my leftovers I didn't want, and now have 1.7M. I had 460k to start the day.
No clue what I even do with stubs now

I got Paul Molitor out of the flash sale pack and ended up selling him for 40k
Sold Christy Mathewson for 50k got him yesterday for 9k
Bought Bill Mazeroski for 10k sold for 42k
Bought Shin-Soo-Choi for 9k sold for 40k
Bought 4 Award series Zack Greinke for 13.5k sold for all of them for 25k
Pulled Johnny bench months ago & sold for 50k
Got Ozzie Smith and Heyward for cheap and sold for 38k, 40k
And many more...Next year I better remember to buy more Postseason players then I would have made 5 Million stubs lol -

I got Trout, and sold off 2m of cards -
I sold everything off except what I wanted to keep and have 11/15 trout collections done, awards , prime prospects I sold everything I had and made about 1.5 million.
I prefer Reggie and Sheffield in the outfield and mays and Griffey are coming. I’ll complete trout on quicksell value cards over the next month just for the 75k and 100k xp, he might make my bench as a late fielding replacement or a pinch hit/ runner but def not locking in cards that have insane inflated values atm. Cashing in and buy back later

I wasn't preparing for the collection because I knew I didn't have the stubs for it, but I just made about 500K selling off cards I never use anyway, and then in my best pull of the year I just got Arenado in a random live series silver pack. I may go for Sheffield now.

I know exactly what you mean. I’ve been saving to get the big collection. I now have over a million stubs. If I wait about a month, I’m sure I’ll be able to get this trout without having to spend hardly any of this.

Started the day with 350k. I sold A LOT of cards I had invested in (wish I went with intuition and bought more PS cards) & got trout along the way. Ended up making over a million stubs in the process. Also went on a spending spree and bought Kris Bryant, Sutton, JD, Carlson, 3rd HRD cards needed for Griffey, Rollins, probably others I’m not remembering. Also bought any equipment I didn’t have for CAP catcher. Crazy day and I feel accomplished. Still have over a mil stubs to burn. Prolly just play ranked periodically and give up the heavy grind.

Started today with 25k, got trout, went up 4 levels of prestige, sold the rest and now have 866k, im not disappointed
