When you take the best current player, and stick him as a collection reward for cards across all legends and flashbacks, and the card is last year's MVP, it's the definition of "mailing it in".
This took no thought, had no mystical anticipation once released about how the card will play, and was the easiest way out in what has already been a disappointing MLB baseball season.
As an adult in my late 40's, I understand the desire for more recent players. The entire rollout of Future Stars and now this have shown that you are alienating one generation of player for the other.
You guys really blew it here, and in a big way.
Trout could have been a boss, or instead, the LS collection, with Mantle being your ultimate chase.
Everything you rolled out this year was backwards and again.... Disappointing in how it was implemented.
Well said. Someone mentioned the word "lazy" in another thread when describing the choice of Trout here. Mantle hands down should have been the reward here if this is the ultimate reward.

I think it's decent for what it requires, nowhere near as expensive as Honus last year

Do you realize how many players from the 90's - 2000's were new this year ? Trout was a big disappointment yes... But to say they are alienating an entire generation of player is a bit off base here.

Trout is arguably Top 5 player of all time so it’s quite fitting IMO

No, you couldn't have made Mantle the Honus because you had to have Prime Mantle available at launch. He was the 'star' legend this year so he had to be there on Day 1.

I’d have rather them just repeat with Honus. While I got the trout (because I already had everything and then some, this was way easier than honus last year), he may not even be in my lineup now, let alone end of year.

I was over prepared for this, my stub balance went up 800k selling cards I didn't need for the collection and you didn't need cards from every collection

If he was an inning boss this inning, I’d still take Maddux.
All year SDS has had fire content, so I will get over this quickly, but at the moment I think we’d rather have some rando FS card.

I wouldn't be surprised if there is another collection down the road, maybe all you will need is the Trout card.
