I’m hoping for one of Sosa/Bonds/Aaron/Arod but we’re probably going to get Ruth. What card would you consider MUST get?

I think you are correct, i honestly think there is like next to no chance it is those are guys.

Yeah hope I’m wrong though, a Ruth card would be boring. I’m hoping that since they used an all-around guy like Honus last year that they do the same this year. Don’t get me wrong Ruth mashes but then he’s a truck and a defensive liability. Don’t know if the price tag is worth it

I think many people will say the same unless it is a true 5 tool player that comes close to mantle

We've seen Ruth for two years already no way they are that dumb. It will be somebody new or epic fail.

Yeah but at least a new card would bring a certain level of excitement even if it’s not a 5-tool player. New swing etc. Idk a Ruth reward just doesn’t move the needle for me remotely. I do think they have to come pretty aggressively on this player as there’s no way Mantle can be better than this reward.

I agree Ruth would be boring. The bright side tho is Ruth would be the end game 1B tho since defense doesn’t matter at 1B. Then I could take J-Roll instead of Stan with my 6th inning boss.

That would be interesting. I know SDS took a pretty big stand for BLM so honoring one of the negro league greats is not too far fetched. I just don’t think it ties in with the clues

They have held back Ruth for a big program, most of the big name guys we haven't seen a 99 for are not as big of a name is Ruth, and a real big new legend like you are saying, would've been dropped at the beginning of the year, so a new legend wouldn't be as big of a name, perhaps a Reggie Stocker, since its not actually Bonds, but they haven't been doing that for years. SDS doesn't have the same high standard to making your lineup as we do at TSN. A Ruth with near 125 in C and P is a must for lineup despite that bronze or silver fielding and mid range speed in their minds. Sure I could be wrong, because honestly Ruth is almost too obvious.

Usually the most hyped up anticipated programs go over like a fart in a car on here. So lower your expectations.

Personally there is so much hype around this collection that it will be a let down to most.
Not that the card will not be good, but we as a community have been obsessing about this set for the last few weeks 24/7.Who could SDS have up their sleeve that will satisify that sort of build up?
That is why I think we are going to get more than one card. That way they will have more chances to please this rabid community.My guesses are :
Since we got Mantle as the collection reward, I think it could be Roger Maris.
After all Mantle and Maris were involved in the most famous "Chase" in baseball history as they chased Babe Ruth's seemingly unbreakable record of 60 HRs in a season. The summer of 1961 has been romatizied and written about many many times.If it is tiered, I could see Maris being the "mid level" reward and the Babe being the final boss.
Either way I think Maris will be a part of this. -

Either way I think Maris will be a part of this.Spot on with your assessment. I have also thought that Maris was a great guess, and the best guess for a new Legend. The clue chase fits perfectly, Mantle got in this year and they were both part of it, and he isnt so big of a name that they could hold him back til now.
