Problems with the swim dive

Does anyone else have problems with the swim dive?
It seems like 4/10 times I’ll move the right stick for the swim dive, and I’ll even feel my controller vibrate and at time and they still don’t swim dive
Got thrown out 3 times today with 90/90 speed stealing because of no swim dive.
My controller works just fine.
Is this just happening to me or is this a thing?

Have used multiple controllers because of the left thumb stick not working. Sliding is very unresponsive sometimes and I’ve noticed the slide I try to do doesn’t always happen even though I did it in the timing window there is before the slide to the base.

I hate when I push the right stick forward to dive head first just to have my runner slide feet first
