I was wondering about this as well, but the signs say “beat the streak.” It’s says nothing about the chase.
It’s certainly possible SDS has a trick to their sleeve, but I’d still guess it’s going to be Babe.

Bonds is obviously never gonna happen, but McGwire and Sosa are in the realm of possibility at least. They could probably also get Maris or hank aaron to fit the theme if that is the direction they're going with this.

I have a hard time seeing both major collection rewards be Yankee centerfielders. That doesnt make a lot of sense to me.

That just means he negotiates marketing on his own. And actually all retired players do that because they aren't part of the MLBPA. So really it means nothing now.
Actually all retired players that are eligible for a pension remain in the Union for life. That means once you hit 5 years of service you become eligible for a partial pension and at 10 years you become eligible for the full pension. Now on to Bonds, he bought his rights outright as a player. If he had any intention of selling those rights back he would’ve done it a long time ago. He is most likely never going to give anybody the right to use his name or likeness. And having been someone who watched his whole career and knowing his personality, he is a straight up horses behind. That just solidifies my thinking that he’ll never be featured in any video game from now til eternity. It’s his way of sticking it to the man, because of how he feels he has been treated since the steroid era ended and with it his career.
Not sure where you are getting your information, but i think you might be confusing getting a pension with being part of the MLBPA.
The MLBPA is for current players and has a division that negotiates likeness of 2 or more active players through licensing.

Perhaps you are confusing the work of the Alumni Association with the MLBPA?

He doesn't have to sell back rights he was free to negotiate on his own but not recieve any benefit of the collective agreement (as a player) and now retired he can negotiate on his own anyway like other retired players.
There is no mechanism stopping Bonds from allowing his likeness in a game. He is free to negotiate as he pleases, now that's a different conversation.
