Does anyone have hitting tips for 99 Posey.

I really want to be able to use him, but I cannot count on him offensively one bit (hitting low .200), he’s on my squad for his defensive contributions at this point.

Should I be looking for a certain pitch, or is there a sweet spot in the strike zone for him?

I tried biggio, but he costs me too much defensively.

I struggled offensively with him in the beginning too.. what I noticed is pitchers pound fastballs/sinkers inside especially early in the count
Then breaking balls away later in count so sit fastball & adjust

Take more pitches even if it's in the zone, a lot of times you slump when you're not drawing walks

I’m not a great hitter, he was my 2nd best choice after Sandberg but since acquiring the prestige path Posey, I don’t think I’ll ever substitute him as catcher. Not many homers but he is clutch in those RISP AB’s. Good opposite field gap shots for D’s between the 8 & 9 off Righties

Thanks for the advice, I’ve been batting him in the 8th spot lately due to my low hitting average with him.

I’ll just have to be better on getting RISP for him to utilize that clutch attribute. I seem to have weak fly outs on good contact, or I line out with him consistently.

Against righties I have noticed that people love starting him in that high center part of his strike zone that is clear instead of red. People then tend to try and jam him and finish him off with a breaking ball low and away. I try and jump on that early fastball which seems to either line out to the shortstop or go into centerfield for a single. Against lefties, people are definitely more timid of him because of his crazy stats against them.
