Title says it all. Trying to find out if my TV has good enough input lag time to play competitively and was wondering if HDR mode has a negative impact

Chances are HDR is gonna sacrifice some performance for presentation.

You wont notice any difference in Input lag using HDR on that TV. They use to. But from about 2016 on TV's got better at reducing the lag when using HDR. Now it might go from 17.0 to 17.5 ms or something like that.

No, not at all. Anything under around 35ms is fast. The best monitors will get you 7-9ms but a lot of times those are running at higher refresh rates than what a ps4 can do, 60. Fastest TV's are usually around 15-17ms.

That is a good gaming TV. I just looked it up here, https://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/samsung/nu8000, you can scroll through and see Input lag ratings down the way. Just remember the Playstation can only do 1080p or 4k, not 1440p, and can only process up to 60hz on your TV or monitor. So ignore those other numbers when judging how well it will work with PS4.

Gotcha! Ok so I guess I’ll start worrying when the ps5 comes out and can utilize higher refresh rates lol

Lol I have a monitor that is the same for when I’m playing my computer, but it’s so much smaller than my TV. I like sitting back on the couch and playing The Show on my 65 inch Samsung. Might be switching to the monitor in a few months tho when I get that ps5. I’m curious if we will have to wait for next years edition tho utilize the higher refresh rate, or if it will translate with this year’s game when the ps5 comes out
