Starling Marte to Arizona for a couple Single-A guys. What?! Arizona has put together a very respectable farm system, and Pittsburgh couldn't pry loose any of their top-100 guys??
I am very impressed with Arizona. They have managed to restock their minors without doing a full-on teardown that would have required them to be terrible for 3-5 years. They aren't going to compete with LA, but the team as it stands right now is in decent shape to talk about a wild card spot. And they have plenty of good young players to start bringing up in the next year or so, too. It isn't quite the Cubs/Astros/White Sox model of rebuilding, but it might work.
(someone from the AZ front office needs to contact me about buying the rights to "Super Marte Bros." I claim it in the name of SchnauzerFace.)
