Thoughts on Prime Britton

One of the best lefties in the game. There’s just not many lefty options. He’s my 3rd lefty behind Chapman and McGee. Not sure who else would be able to replace him.

Saying britton is BAD is overreacting. He’s not nearly as good as expected, but he’s still a decent lefty out of the pen. Not as good as Chapman or Wagner, but after that, he’s pretty much the third or fourth best lefty reliever in the game.
Did you try him in the event?
Or did you face him? -

Mcgee?
I was trying to decide between him and Britton, but I chose Britton because he had higher velocity.
and I did not like his pitch mix.
How good is he? -
I think Britton is the #2 LHP behind Chapman. He has good control, /9s, upper 90s fastball amd sinker plus low 80s slider with good movement is good for me. He's not dominant like Chapman or dibble but if you can afford him I would use him
-
Britton is my best reliever. His slider has so much movement
-
Fingers, Chapman, Rivera, Britton, Wagner, dibble, Rodney are the best relievers in my opinion. McGee would also be a nice option as well.

Really?
I can't wait to try him out !!! -
Britton is very good, second best lefy reliever behing Chapman imo. His sinker/slider combo is more then enough to be dominant for one inning.

Or did you face him?I’ve used him in a large sample size on ranked seasons. In about 40 innings, he has an ERA around five, which is considerably lower than my team ERA.

How good is he?McGee got rocked for me at the start but has became pretty solid for me. Have to be kind of unconventional With his pitch mix. He can dot when you get his release down. I always go to Chapman when I can but McGee is a decent lefty option.
-
His delivery isn’t as deceptive as it was in the past. That being said, he isn’t BAD just not as good as that card would’ve been in the past.

I would love to get Chappy, but at 190K plus I would have a tough time pulling the trigger on a one inning reliever.
Maybe the pack gods would bless me the next time I get a DOP pack. -
Britton is very usable. A good lefty option out of the pen for sure. People don't like the card because they rely on the sinker to much. If you use him in certain situations, and sparingly he can be very effective.
-
Lefty cap, problem solved.
-
Why did I wait until now to try this card? Using him in the East Event and love this card. Expensive now but for those that have stubs to burn figured I’d bump this old thread.

Kind of funny seeing this old thread pop up. I actually still have Britton in my bullpen & like him very much.
-
Figured better to bump an old thread than start a new one but yeah, he might stick around with my main squad if he keeps pitching well in the event. Don’t even need wins but it’s pretty fun throwing that 99mph sinker from the left side....

Prime Britton is like an expensive treadmill. In my house he is mostly used to hang clothes on that aren't supposed to go into the drier. He sits in the corner of my loft gets dusty and takes up space (just like in my bullpen) but I spent so much for it that I really don't want to let it go. Now someone else who actually works out might say that my treadmill is the best on the market and improves their physique.
It's like using a wrench to hammer in nails. It might do the job but really there is a bigger chance of damaging the surrounding area or bending the nail. Use Britton for what he was intended and you will succeed use him like I do and you will just suck. -
Yeah he's stayed in my bullpen all year. He's the first lefty I go to if available, I've found his sinker timeless given the games mechanics.
