Hitting in this game is absolutely broken

I think 18 was the year they promoted the hitting engine that they said would make the balls in play seem like they came off a rounded bat instead of a flat wall. That was when things started going downhill. They tweaked and tweaked and tweaked until the game was literally a HR or nothing.
Last year hitting sucked. I had better results using a team full of high contact and really low power than I did using players with high power.
This year good still means nothing. You need perfect for consistent results or late/early. Add in the way they've turned pitching into a similar feel as hitting from a results standpoint with input vs results in game and the game feels the way it does now.
All of this goes back to them taking all the complaints about people in 17 and prior who couldn't lay off of high fastballs or breaking balls in the dirt. They made it so you couldn't spam pitches and forced hittable pitches into the game. It's not a conspiracy about wanting certain players to win though how some treat this stuff. -
Funny how below average players are always saying this is broken that is broken. #Theproblemisyou

good/good is a death sentence.

This game is broken. When you constantly line out and it happens to people like rebel, Kyle, tiki and others. Itβs a dumpster fire so donβt protect it

Itβs funny how the people who defend the game are usually offline players. The game was so good week one because you could battle back. They patched it and now itβs who ever the rng favors. The best players donβt always win

I really hope You're not dumping on below average players.
That is very bad if that is what you're trying to say.
This is the one sports game that i want to be great at, but am not.
Posts like yours makes the frustration even greater. -

I don't remember exactly what hitting was like in 17 and earlier, but gameplay has consistently improved for at least as far as the past 3 years. It's easy to remember the good parts of past games while forgetting the gamebreaking flaws. The only real complaint I can think of that I have with the gameplay this year is that the ball flies too much and it seems like you may actually feel the opposite if you're saying that good good is meaningless
I feel completely opposite. I feel itβs been a slow decline since β17 as @raesone said and although towards the end of β19 was the best the game has played since β17, itβs been a downward trend for me. β18 was terrible both in terms of content and gameplay, β19 was great for content but the gameplay was somewhat lacking even after all patches. This year content is fine so far, although I felt they were spinning their wheels in the mud slightly when they were releasing the same cards as prospects and FS earlier in the year. Gameplay is lacking once again, from hitting, to fielding, to pitching.
My main complaint this year is RS has totally become RNG seasons, it plays like BR or events, which wasnβt my experience in years past. RS was - And ought to be - The mode that offers a realistic 9 inning experience. Instead we got 19-25 scorelines with over 50 combined hits every other game. Itβs just silly and there are enough of these garbage modes, where 3 inning games at Shippet produce home run after home run after home run after home run after home run after home run after home run and everyone has a ridiculous ERA approaching double digits. I donβt want to play that nonsense.

Is it better to hit with your controller connected to usb cable or wirelessly? Thanks in advance guys.

IMO... hitting is too difficult for the common or below average player. There is no balancing out or matching of players with similar playing stats. I cannot compete with someone whoβs DD record is 150-50... nor should I have to. I understand itβs a game that just dumps you to next opponent, but it wouldnβt be a difficult tweak to match players abilities a bit better. Thing is, I can pitch pretty well but cannot seem to hit much at all, even with all the best players on my roster (ie I am hitting .169 4hr with Banks in 71 abβs).
Itβs frustrating for us average/below average players struggling to hit consistently.
I know, I know... all the trolls on the board will start chiming in, βget better, you think maybe you just suck?, donβt play the game then, etc...β
SAVE IT! ALREADY HEARD IT FROM YOU!
If there are players that can really hit, itβd be cool if youβd share how you approach hitting rather than putting people down.
Iβve tried several tips on here to no avail... if I take pitches and become patient, I strike out. If Iβm aggressive, I strike out or pop out.
Like maybe help and answer a few of these could help some of us get better:
How do you better recognize pitches?
Hitting the high fastball?
The low part of the strike zone
Getting a solid contact
Not pounding the pci all overThanks

I can share a bit of how I hit. I'm the type of player that reaches WS every month and can go 12-0 a couple times thrpughout the year, but once I start trying to climb the rankings in WS I typically stall out in the low 900s.
As a hitter I typically have a higher strike out rate and lower batting average than people ranked around me, but I make up for it with my approach at the plate which helps me get a good walk rate and plenty of XBHs.
I struggle against high velocity especially up in the zone, so I figure that if I can't hit it anyway, I'll sit on the slow and low stuff that I can hit. You do have to sit on high heat once in a while to keep then honest but if you can crush a high one now and then you might be able to scare your opponent down in the zone.
From there it's not easy to do but it helps to sit on one thing early in the count and take the pitch if it's not there. That should help you avoid making easy outs early in the count and hopefully get a few walks in the process. If you're like me and strike out a lot because your reactions and pci placement isn't top notch, those quick weak outs are killer. I still strike out a lot and my approach might even make me K more often, but I think I get enough good out of it to keep me afloat

Its busted.
I played a BR game a week ago, the guy dug two balls out of the dirt. I had never seen pitches so low hit, not once but twice. I sarcastically aimed the pitch all the way down and he dug it out for a no doubt HR with Thames. I rage quit on that one.
Maybe Tiger Woods should be on the cover next year.

Yea the top players in the community definitely arenβt complaining about the game ever
the game is completely broken. Just admit it and stop calling everyone bad for having huge problems with the game
