bought Dustin May, and 3 other of the new FOTF players. (Bagwell, Yount, and Young). Plus had left over and picked up Jim Palmer SP Orioles FOFT. I love Trout but that was too many stubs to pass on for one player... plus I never seem to struggle pitching against a Trout...
Mike Trout in a Ballin is a Habit pack.... I sold him instantly...... bad choice or nah?
Bad choice imo. His price is probably never going to be lower, especially with a stub sale due, which will jack the price.
Plus all the players you bought are underachieving cards also... Imo
If you're going for Mantle, bad choice
If not then you should've waited until there's a sale and his price goes back up.

Can't say I had any clue the price point he was at was low.. this was like 3 days ago so I got him at exactly 200k which paid me out 180k.. I've never played as much as I have this year to key into things like that.... the players I bought have been okay... definitely nothing special.. but I am not disappointed yet either

Yeah I gotta admit I was completely unaware of how the market works, also haven't been targeting Mantel so I am good there I guess..
It's not going to like ruin you or anything but yeah holding and selling later would have been the best move if you don't want Mantle. When you view player cards go over to the market tab and look at the price graph, you'd see that this is the cheapest Trout has been in months. On high-value cards it's always best to check that and also to put in a sell order and not just sell now.

Wow. Haha... I don't care quite enough to be annoyed with myself, but that is funny I've never noticed that and was all excited when I got him and sold him instantly thinking I was making a killing... oh well... I discovered this forum about 2 hours ago now... I've learned quite a lot already
Bad choice for two reasons:
1: This card is a huge bridge to Mantle
2: You sold too low. Should have waited until a stubs sale in order to sell higher.
I pulled this card from a pack as well and no way it leaves my collection.

Yeah I am learning a lot about the logistics that I was completely unaware of as of about an hour ago...
Bad choice his price is going to double once a stub sale is announced. I expect him to get up to 350k at least.

Thanks for confirming that I made a bad choice haha I had literally zero clue how that stuff worked until now.. I was just all excited to be able to get close to 200k stubs and be able to buy up some of the FOTF 99s I didn't want to grind for.

Hey I hear you completely, sorry if that came off as rude. I completely understand wanting to have your favorite players on your team. I reached Trout for the second time yesterday and I'm waiting until the sale but if your happy with what you bought it's actually not a bad choice. Again sorry.
You will learn the market, just give it time and don't feel bad if mistakes happen. I only started flipping last June (I'm still not great at it) but I can at least make a profit now. My biggest advice is to have patience with the market. Everything moves with time.

Totally tnderstand. Sometimes learning the hard way helps. I've done stuff like this before, we all have at some point. If you can, I'd buy it back and do the custom practice with Trout to get a better feel for him if you struggle with him.

It didn't lol don't apologize I was making fun of myself.. but yeah I like the cards and am not as serious as some, which is probably why I had no clue I was making a bad decision, but at the same time I play enough and care enough to wish I had known this stuff sooner...
Glad I’m holding onto the second Trout I pulled in two weeks... never pulled him before for all the years I’ve played! Gonna wait till that stub price goes up to sell him off!

Good call.. I too have never pulled a player anywhere close to that... haven't played as much dynasty as I have this year... but up to this point Hader was the only other "good" diamond I pulled.. but yeah based on all these other responses sounds like you should get a good chunk for him when the time comes
If Mantle isnt end game he is the best you are going to see for a long while. Trout is low. I got mine from Prestige level 45, locked him in had enough to get the last 5 for Mantle. Best decision I've made.

Could’ve gotten 300k for him later

Dude if there is a stubs sale the market inflates for a couple weeks on all cards. So if you waited and sold trout for 50k more than you did, then you would spend the profit on the cards you already bought but at an inflated price. Or you could wait for the market to go back down. So if you are happy with the cards you got now then it was a good decision. If you wouldn't mind waiting around a month for a possible stubs sale and then the market coming back down then you lost stubs. I personally dont play this game year round so i am not waiting until august to cash in on an extra 50k stubs when i can play right now. I don't think you made a bad move at all. Enjoy the game. Some of these clowns do more market stuff than actually playing baseball. They think they are virtual currency Gordon Gekkos.

No chance that card raises again that high. There are tons of people pulling him in the 90 and above xp path packs.

Not so sure about that. People can and will take advantage of making the most stubs they can because they know Mantle is prize at the end.
He dropped because people wanted to sell asap to open the gimmick HR Derby cards and collect Griffey Jr.
You will not see Trout be this cheap the rest of the season. Bank on it.

Yeah you’re probably right but the OP would’ve been better to have waited to sell that card as he will probably hit the mid 200k’s again
