What about use your contract money for something, like get tattoos or clothes to play, right now we earn money in RTTS but can do nothing with it

Yes, this is another cool idea. I hope SDS is reading these suggestions. I think with contracts we should be able to sign sponsorship deals with one brand like Nike, Addias, or Under Amor. Also the bigger the contract the bigger the house you have. With contracts you can also give us more control over team input (signing players, trading or releasing a player, etc) verses a nobody guy in the club just starting out.

Yes! I want to use my $100 million contract to buy a minor league stadium and invite the Yankees to play an exhibition game against my Hackensack Bulls.

SDS, if you're reading this, please find ways to update the game later on down the road to include these suggestions.

RTTS is touted as the "most played feature" on MLB the Show games. While the improvements have been steady, I am kind of disappointed that nothing major was done with customization, contract money, and other RPG elements. Perhaps I'm biased towards it, but it would make the mode so much more interesting.

That's not to say that the improvements made are unnecessary. It's great! I think everyone agrees that it should be taken a step further with the following...

    1. Use of Contract Money (NOT STUBS) to purchase cosmetics such as tattoos, Hair Styles, Piercings
    2. Contract Money to buy real estate and personal belongings. (i.e Buying a nice house will give a buff in Durability and Energy)
    3. Incorporating a Charity Donation feature! When your player hits a Home Run, they automatically donate $10,000 to a certain charity. (You can take a page from 2K's book and incorporate fan systems!)

I doubt its possible to incorporate any new features like this into the game, but if you can? Whew...

Great ideas! It’s always bothered me that there’s zero value to your contract other than knowing you make a lot of money. I especially like robin_choi18’s ideas for cosmetic upgrades that also give your player some benefits. Otherwise I just take small contracts, which allows the team to sign better teammates for a championship. 2K has some excellent innovations in their MyCareer (at least they do in NBA 2K20) that increase the immersion. The “career retrospective” thing is a cool idea also, which reminds me of that old “Don King’s Prizefighter” game that played out like a documentary.

First I will tell you that RTTS is NOT the most played mode in the game. That used to be the case years ago but now it is DD. That is SDS cash cow. Tattoo will not be in this game because of copyright issues. This has been addressed many times. The other thing is if you want to buy a nice home and cars and stuff with your contract money may I suggest you buy the Sims game. Third I will say after 11 year of playing RTTS that SDS needs to fix gameplay issues and finish the added features they have put in already before they add anymore.

Im willing to bet you any amount of money that you want that "ROAD TO THE SHOW" Is still the most played mode in MLB The Show. Yes Diamond Dynasty is a "Cash Cow" but it is not the most played mode.

I've said this for years, no reason to take a fat contract, the money has no meaning. Technically makes it harder to pay for other players. Probably best to just keep doing league minimum.

Honestly, I would like to take that bet, I think RTTS is one of the most boring game modes, something like this would make it much more enjoyable. I also keep hearing that a lot of the same bugs that have plagued RTTS for years are still there, just as Franchise is ignored.

The only people who know for sure what the most popular mode is, is SDS and they have never said. But if they do I'll gladly take your money.

Is that why with all the streams that they did this year the one for RTTS was put together with Franchise? They had like 3 streams dealing with DD and the other modes that came from it

None of the streams so far have been DD specific. The Diamond ratings stream was about the live players ratings for both offline and online, the custom leagues stream is a whole separate thing to any mode and the gameplay changes apply to all modes. Coming up is MTO and then the DD mode Showdown. So that’s one DD specific stream all up.

Hopefully the devs will use a custom league postseason bracket so we get to see a bit of that in action.

Not true, those ratings were for DD. They made a point of saying so, as to why Trout was 95 and not 99. You also would know because attributes were on the 125 scale which is only a DD thing.

I should have clarified what I meant, the attributes they showed were DD but the rankings (top 5 players in each position) were mode independent, also they kept saying throughout that non-DD ratings were lower but relative.

I guess what I’m trying to say is it wasn’t a DD-only stream either.

I've said to separate RTTS and DD gear. That way the player can use the contract dollars to buy Gear, Livable quarters, a trainer, pay your agent, etc..

I personally don't care about tattoo's, but I'd like to see some other cool cosmetics, like clothes, weights for a training room, etc... Maybe watch film on pitchers you'll face to get an edge. (or batters if you're a pitcher). As a RPG.. It would be really cool to see SDS allow the user to make it what they want.

Keep adding stuff to the game and you may play enough to get through one or two seasons before the next version comes out in 2021
