Middle aged Reds fan here too. I agree this is the first year that i cant seem to hit with Larkin, but bash with Davis. I am also a 600 RS player, but since switching to SZ2 i should be able to make DS this season.
I hit ropes with Larkin at first say 40 AB, haven't hit anything solid with him in a while. Switched back to Hanley and stinging it, mis the speed and defense tho.
I'm biased but I've ripped with Larkin since the day I got him. Perfect 2 hole hitter and surprisingly hits a lot of bombs for me. Even on Hall of Fame.
Yea same for me at first. Maybe I'm just in funk with him.

@RonnieGant1992 i couldn’t agree more. The wish list for players from my age bracket is long and full of mistakes.

I'm probably in same bracket

@RonnieGant1992 im assuming you may be with that name. Reds I love but I grew up hating the [censored] braves because they were so good. Respect especially for Chipper Jones...one of the best. [censored] I hated him. Lol.

As a Mets fan, I share your hatred of the GODDAMN Braves. Screw those guys for making the 90's an unbearable hellscape for us.

@PeuswahBoy im still living off the Reds series in 90. It’s quite sad

You don't have to tell me. Living off the fumes of 1986 here...lol. Dude there were a few reasons I remember that series:
-
That A's team was supposed to destroy you guys, and who doesn't love a good underdog story?
-
Margie Schott was taking a TON of heat during the series for being so cheap
-
I think it was Glenn Bragg that swung so hard he broke a bat on his back. Pretty sure it was in one of the games at Oakland.

Grew up in East Tennessee and...Was a Braves fan before they were good wore my Dale Murphy jersey to Elementary school with pride even with the 90-100 losses a year..was 13 or so when they went worst to first in 91.
But my dad grew up in Southern Ohio so I went to Cincy games and Atlanta.
Eric Davis were my favorite Red...Had Rijo and Sabo stayed healthy Ibthinknthe Reds woulda stayed on top for a bit longer.

Dude I remember those Braves teams as the ultimate mashing softball team. Murphy and Bob Horner just mashed. Plus you had little Glenn Hubbard playing second base with the world's smallest glove.

Same with Gant was lined up for a huge contract with Braves after 93 then he had his motorcycle accident and ATL voided contract he missed a year and had a decent come back in 95 with Reds but never regained his elite speed.

Horner could hit bombs. Still remember his 4 HR game. sad what Mlb Owners did to him blackballing him for contract stuff for a couple years.

@PeuswahBoy And again I say Eric Davis my favorite player game one in Cincinnati, first pitch he saw he planted 410 ft dead center. I remember it like yesterday. [censored] I’m old.

My first game was in 88 at Riverfront Braves/Reds. I remember Claudell hitting a bomb and Gant stealing second he was a rookie 2B at time.

@RonnieGant1992 my best friend all through school was a die hard Braves fan....made it all even worse watching and having to listen to it.

Can't forget the Nasty Boys. Myers, Charlton and Dibble didn't they all 3 share the MVP in a series? NLCS?

Really wish they'd add Myers and Charlton to go with Dibble. I'd spend hella stubs to have the Nasty Boys closing out games for me.

@PeuswahBoy they we’re great. One of the best bullpens. However I remember Glavine, Smoltz, and Maddux making my life miserable for years.
-
@T-mac4pro at my age I’m a no money spent guy which is why I don’t have Dibble yet. You add all of them and I would break out the card for sure!!

I agree Darrell strawberry should be in the game. Especially since cobb is in the game. And we all know what kind of person he was
