Yes! I watched Movie Gaming TV's baserunning tips video, where he tells you to hit L2 to queue up the steal and then L1 to take a one step lead just before the pitch, but when I did that my runner ran right past second and headed for third and was thrown out easily, so I haven't tried it since. I haven't had it happen just trying to steal without taking a lead, but you often get a terrible jump, even with a baserunner with 90+ steal rating. I don't try to steal very often because I feel like it's a crapshoot.
