Just take your time against Rivera
-
This showdown is actually pretty simple if you just take your time with it, especially for someone like me who gets over anxious at times, just take pitches and wear him down I managed to work a few walks as well and then tee off on him, felt good hitting a bomb off of his cutter to end it.

You know he's gonna through the Cutter at you, the problem is you never know if it's gonna be a 95 MPH cutter that moves a little or a 97 MPH Cutter that breaks 30ft at the last second

Plus they gave him a 'Sink-piece,' which must make him even more of a nightmare.
Imagine if he had one in real life! -

Co-sign. Went 10-12 on missions, Finished Mo w/8 outs left. Not like I hit great, but once he's over 60 pitches, it's good-bye baseball. Take 2, and get that pitch count up.

I beat it, but it's kind of stupid that he can still throw nasty cutters on the black with zero energy and confidence. He should be missing the strike zone badly.

Took me 4 times. Went in at 15-9 the first time with a stacked team and great perks and lost 15-14 with the not unexpected plethora of good/good and perfect/perfect outs. Rivera was zero energy and zero confidence but everything was still paint. Waited for two strikes on every at bat too. Got annoyed and jumped in at 15-4 next run because I didn’t want waste time. Lost 15-11. Took a breath. Played a third time, went in at 15-10 convinced I had it this time and lost 15-15. Even my wife was commenting I was crushing balls all over for outs. Rivera was out of gas by about 40 pitches and had nearly zero confidence but still paint. By then I was just laughing. Hey it’s showdown. When it’s “my time” the computer will let me win. Went in the 4th time down 15-11 and won easily with 10 outs left. I am sure it’s just in my head, but this one felt waaaaaay more “influenced” than other showdowns to me. One tip I read from someone else in another thread was go directional hitting vs Rivera which I did in the final battle. I’d say it helped, but then again I am old (52) and don’t wear glasses so that’s my excuse! LOL. Now, all you young whippersnappers GET OFF MY LAWN! LOL

Screwed up 3 of the missions, went in down 15-10. Despite knowing better, tried to advance on a passed ball behind the catcher and got the tying run thrown out at 3B. It didnt matter though, as same as every other showdown, lefty power prevails. Finished with 7 outs to go.
