Another year another disappointment

so this year developement cycle is basically over for gameplay patches and we have accomplished nothing. You could say im disappointed but honestly after the previous 2 years of the same thing im not surprised. I stopped playing almost immediatedly after that first patch and havent looked back since. Its a shame that the advertisment that we were feed during the month leading up to the game turned out to the biggest PR stunt i've seen by a sport gaming company in recent history. The fact SDS made changes 1 week into release was a mistake and as a consumer has made lose all interest in preorder mlb 21 because they are jsut going to do it again and again until it hurts their sale numbers.
I remember in 2014-2016 where video games were flawed but still fun to play, the last half decade has made me wonder why im a even playing these games, the companies dont care about the user experience and sure as hell dont care about anything besides turning out the most profit per $ invested.

For all the complaints about the game (some legitimate, some not, in my opinion), I'm having a blast playing. I think you're doing yourself a disservice by giving up so quickly. It's a much better game than people are claiming.
I have my own gripes, mainly about perfect pitches going over the middle, but it's definitely my most played game over the last 3 months, and I don't see that changing. The "good old days" of gaming are gone, and they're never coming back. Gone are the days of AAA titles being produced by a couple of guys in their garage. This is big business. Understandable if you no longer want to support it, but I still enjoy it.

When you say “it’s a much better game than people are saying”, what is it about the game/gameplay that makes it much better than people are claiming? Just out of curiousity.

For instance, a good majority of this forum complains about hitting being "broken". I personally think hitting is challenging this year, compared to last year, but I wouldn't describe it as broken. I'm not a good hitter. I typically hit between .260 and .310 with most of my guys. I see other people have averages in the high .300s and .400s and marvel at how they do it. It kinda keeps me going, much like golf does. Golf is one of the most frustrating things I've ever done, but the allure of trying it ONE MORE TIME just to get a bit better is a challenge that keeps me coming back.
The game has issues for sure, but they seem to be addressing them. They haven't given up on supporting it. Fielding is much better, the new hitting interface is pretty slick, and the content has been fantastic. I love the sheer amount of things to do / goals you can accomplish at any given time. Prestige and player programs have made me use cards I never would've messed with otherwise, and I've found a couple of players I really enjoy through them. I also like that (outside of Kluber), there's no real meta lineup. I see a ton of lineup and pitching diversity in games now, as opposed to everyone having the same players at the same position every single game. I do hope they address the floating middle pitch issue, but everyone deals with the same thing, so it's a level playing field.
I guess that's a long winded way of saying I'm having a hell of a good time playing, and have been playing since early access. Usually I get tired of games by now, but I'm still going strong.

Good to hear how you’re thoroughly enjoying this years game. Hope your gameplay only trends upwards my man.

If you stopped playing after the first patch and still posting about how bad gameplay now, it's time to move on.
All things considered the game is fun and entertaining and when it no longer is I will move on.

Sure there are absurdities in the game and some modes like moments and showdown kind of have WTF moments. It reminds me of old arcade games. I don’t mind that.
For online players there is a good mix of modes and I have enjoyed the events. RS has been a drag for me this year. I do wish there was some consistency.
Content this year has been outrageously fresh and deep. Like many others, not a fan of future stars but I applaud the effort. Like many games past I think they’ll listen to the community and maybe tone that down next year. I think they should focus on the evolve moments and make that deeper and add tiers.
Overall I enjoy the game. Could it be better? Yes it can

Hitting is far from perfect but I’m enjoying it still and the content has been great

When this game came out I was one of the biggest critics. I then got sick and haven't touched it again until today. I will say that it's better than what it was.

There won't be a time when video games aren't flawe;, it didn't stop you before, why let it stop you now? Feels like a time to temper expectations..... of a video game. Perspective.

I agree why do people have to complain so much...people wanted better Legends and they got 3....plus Banks, Boggs, a 99 Chapman....some people want Future Stars...others don’t...can’t make everyone happy...but it is fake baseball! It’s the only Baseball we have right!

These are forums, this is exactly where you come to complain.
