Will the show start using DH?

Hard to justify adopting the 3 batter rule and then ignore other rule changes. A DH for DD would be great since there are so many good hitters too.
That was just implemented because of the shorted season.
But why? I don’t really understand why you’d implement a DH simply because there are less games.

Because that's what Manfred wants. To push his narrative that they need more action. With pitchers not batting there's a chance for a better at bat 3-4 times a game

If there will be a universal DH in the MLB for the 2021 season, I would expect MLB The Show to include it as well. I doubt we'll see it in The Show this year though.

The 3 batter rule was going to be a thing no matter what. The DH and a runner starting on 2nd in extras was not. That was just implemented because of the shorted season.
This is correct.

They ignored rosters being expanded to 26 for this season, so I can see them ignoring any rule that they want to ignore.
They did not ignore it in fact the addressed it in the pre launch stream and said that they have chosen to keep it at 25 man rosters in DD. Modes outside of DD including MTO have the expanded 26 man rosters

Not being smart, but this thread was discussing DD. On one hand, you're right though, they addressed that they weren't putting it in, so that would imply that they chose to ignore the rule for DD. All my point was saying was that they pick and choose which rules they want to implement in this mode. I'm not insinuating anything else.

To be fair when you have created a fantasy mode like they have as the developer you have the ability to pick and choose what rules you want to implement.
The expanded roster in DD for the most part would have little to no affect so its absence is minimal compared to the real life impacts it has.

They definitely get to do whatever they want because it's a fantasy game. I do find it funny though that with it being fantasy, they try to come off as it being sim in some ways, but not in others.
I would argue the other way though for 26 man rosters and DH both being very valuable in this mode. A 26 man roster allows users to have their best relievers in use, but one long man, instead of doing the starters out of the pen stuff as much. Yes, this is an option with someone like PS Morton, but it takes away one of your possible better short inning relievers. That's strategy as well, but it's just one reason. If it's a bench bat for the 26th man, it would allow you to carry an extra catcher or strictly defensive player without giving up on of your spots for a good bat. I realize both those examples you could do currently, but you lose a key spot in your pen or bench.
As for DH being a rule they use all the time, I honestly don't know why they don't give us the option to do that based on user decision as the home team. This mode is about them making money. The more options we have to use better hitters in our lineup, the more people will spend money on that slot. Then they could also make 1b who suck defensively actually suck, so we don't use them in the field as much. I'm looking at you sig Frank "The Wall" Thomas MLB 19. lol
Just a couple thoughts.

Starters out of the pen needs to go away for sure or there needs to be a major stamina penalty for it.
DH makes sense to have implemented but it does remove and element of stragedy that exists when you dont have a DH.
DH does give the option to use more hitters which I am not agaisnt

I think we all would want the dh and extra roster spots bc we have so many different players
