How the heck do I get on a team that wins? I was on the 5th and 1st best team in the league and missed the playoffs.
Year 15 and all I got to show for it is 1 divisional appearance.

I've had mixed luck. One of my players was drafted by the Rockies (!). I spent two years in the minors, got called up my 3rd year, and we won the World Series. I was a SS playing behind Story. They traded him in 2022, I got my call up, and we won. I have played for #1 overall ranked teams though where we didn't even make the playoffs. Weird.

How were you on first place team and not make the playoffs?

No those where there rankings in the league 1st and 5th. Not record.
I might have found the secret. Look for a team with great starting pitching. I'm on the Astros now and all the starting SP is 85+. We are 60-30 in 1st place. I might make the playoffs this year!!!!
