Why I love Shippett
-
I have not been doing well in RS lately. Today changed that. I chose Shippett, but was away. The home team also chose that. In the top of the 1st I hit back-to-back jacks. I then went on to give up 2 home runs later in the game, and then we went to the 12th. I was facing Kerry Wood after getting destroyed by Fernando Rodney. I was able to get a home run by Hanley, then Bregman, then Rendon. I then got 2 outs, before homering with Judge. (All 6 of my home runs were to left, almost in the exact same spot) I am now seeing why everyone loves this field. I have played here before, and it is always a home run filled game. Just wanted to share.

It really doesn’t matter where you play, it’s homerun or bust anyway. Just in shippett more bs hits are homeruns then in any other park

Hitting can be fun there but pitching is a nightmare

Why is that? I always see people saying how much they hate it but is because of the dimensions of the field or something? I’ve never really paid attention when I play there.

Amen / good okay 87 homerun
-
I dont pick it, but I did hit 5 HRs in a row in the top of the last inning vs someone in an event game on Monday to come from behind to win.

That's better than having five 13+ PCI ratings go for lineouts in less than 3 innings like I did last night.

Stadium to me doesn’t matter to as I’m going hit homers regardless of the venue, however I don’t have any issues pitching there. Maybe that’s because I don’t spend the whole game trying to pitch everyone up and in with 100 mph fastballs. Here’s a hint, good hitters will crush that pitch if you continue trying to exploit that part the strike zone. I use the whole strike zone and vary pitches and pitch speeds to mess with my opponents timing.

I had a post the other day how I had 5 Balls hit that were 100 mph exit velos that were pretty much all down the middle of the plate and not one was a hit. Meanwhile my opponent hits a 100 MPH exit velo with a PCI rating of 10.... I think overall I had like 13 balls in play of 13 PCI or higher and I think 3 hits out of those

I played a guy today that complained about not hitting homeruns when he had Brujan, Vizquel, Brian Roberts, Mondesi, etc. in his lineup. Basically full speed team. And then he played at Bayfront (aka sea level) at night (typically lower exit velos because it's colder at night). I thought he was joking and was just trying to speed demon me. But I think he genuinely didn't realize that those factors help determine where the ball is gonna go.
That's why I usually play at Shippet. If I get a 14+ PCI rating with Mickey Mantle, that ball should be leaving at least 8 out of 10 times.

I just played there again, and got 3 home runs. I think this might be my new home park.
