Showdown is a joke

Showdown double plays are on a different level. Yesterday I had the lucky 7 perk. 7th pitch was right down the middle, I power swung with Willie Stargell, into a perfect-perfect for a 4-6-3 double play. I even had the runner on first going on the pitch. Just seems like I can do everything right and it still forces a double play. I hate showdown, I best them 90% of the time, but hate them.

Well, for me, Lucky 7 is the "I WIN" button. When you get to the 7th pitch, don't leave the PCI centered.....drop it down about 1/2 to 3/4th of a quadrant so that the upper most dot of your PCI is below the middle of the center most quadrant.... Then the pitch that will be sent is an offspeed so SIT BACK on it a bit and power swing your way to victory. Initially, I also got outs on Perfect/Perfect with the 7th pitch until I decided to lift the ball. Never was out again on it. Just make sure you don't swing early.....you're better off being a bit late to late than early since it tends to pull the ball foul more often than pushing it when you go late.

Yeah, I ended up winning, and do this too. It was against Trevor Hoffman, and it was a 73 mph changeup that was actually right about at the 1/3 point from the bottom of the stroke zone.
The issue is that it was a perfect-perfect Liner, that ended up being a routine grounder. Just doesn't make any sense and only happen in showdowns.

Yeah, I can see that then, with Hoffman having a changeup that just bottoms out. Love that pitcher. Gonna have to splurge to get him

These stage 2 ones are very easy, and I've gone from gold 80ish to diamond 6 pretty much doing these exclusively. So much XP, and you make stubs/packs doing them.
-
I hate playing the computer , they throw way to many shitty pitches and strikes are dots. Bronze fielders make insane plays, I can beat it, it’s just annoying af and I try to avoid at all costs, H2h is all I want to play
-
After playing this last game, I was so pissed I was going to make my own post but I’ll park my frustration here for the moment:
AL game against Mariano, 2-2 score, late in my outs, 4 left I think, Cobb gets on, I know a pitch out is coming so I’m deciding on which pitch I run on. I get a 2-1 count and send him, his first step was so %#&$@ late that I had to swing at the next pitch just avoid him being thrown out. This happened on the next 3 pitches until I said forget it before I strike out/throw out. Next pitch I hit into a double play. Betts walks, I pitch run Buxton for him who, gets the same TERRIBLE jumps to the point I HAVE to swing at bad pitches. I finally decide to let him go and he gets thrown out. Cobb is 99/87 and Buxton is 90something/80 something speed/steal ratings. This ish shouldn’t be happening! -
The 4th Inning Showdown was actually pretty easy... and i usually suck at Showdowns... Went 13-15 first try and beat Felix with 15 Outs left.
-
I had pretty good luck with the NL but I'm not doing well on the AL, especially the moments leading up. I just can't seem to get any runs to help me out. There's no doubt that this veteran difficulty plays different than mto.
-
I hate to be a di*k, but if you can’t beat showdowns first try at this point then idk what to tell you. It’s all the same game plan, stock up on power lefty bats, get a good starter and closer...that’s it.

Showdown is one of the best things about this game actually.
You will literally defend anything and everything about the broken 2020 version of this game. I hope SDS pays you well to shill for them online.

The 4th inning showdown was super easy. I played all the stages and only lost one. Went into the final boss which is king Felix 14-15. And beat that with in four batters.
I agree the CPU does preform extremely well on defense and makes sports center top plays regularly. But there are enough chances in the mode to overcome this.

I enjoy showdown as well, is it frustrating? Yes, are the fielders juiced? Also yes but I still have fun playing them and enjoy the challenge. Does that make me a shill as well?

No, because you haven't been running around these boards defending every indefensible aspect of this game for months like @DriveByTrucker17 has been doing.

I will defend a lot of things about this game. It's far from perfect but a lot of complaints on this forum are more so problems with the player, not the game. Im asking this as a legitimate question, if the ga.e is so indefensible and broken why are you still playing it? There clearly has to be something you enjoy and have fun doing or you wouldn't keep coming back. If you dont enjoy it, stop playing. No need to get mad at the people that do enjoy it and see the good in the game.

So because I told you multiple times that your opponents aren’t cheating, you claim I’m “defending every indefensible aspect of this game.”
You have some serious mental issues my guy.

You literally called him a shill and insulted him and then cry to the admins when he responds. That is a child move

It's an internet message board. Nobody has a "good name" here, especially someone who attacks other posters who report cheating and glitching in this terrible online game.
