Halladay was by himself over water.
Jose was a kid, who got in a fight with his girl and decided to do a bunch a coke and drank, and speed race his boat killing 2 other people..
So 2 grown men can’t make the decision to not get on that boat? Just because Fernandez was driving the boat that killed them all, he’s full to blame for something they all were partaking in that night? Also, that’s complete speculation with the whole “girlfriend fight” being a reason to “do a bunch of coke” & “speed race” .. you speak on a dead man’s situation so easily, kinda odd. It’s as if you were there that night or have inside info.
But hey, hope you’ve been a saint your whole life my man. Such a shame a young rising star made a bad decision that ultimately took his life. So weird how he’s the only person in sports history to have that happen. What a truly HORRIBLE human.

Everyone needs to cool off on jose being the greatest marlin of all time thing. Only people born after year 2000 would ever think that. He was on track for greatness but never really accomplished anything.
I dont care about what he did as a person, tons of people of been awful people off the field, its not my business.
But seriously does no one remember how dominant josh Beckett was during their world series run, or even aj burnett. Way higher ceilings then jose ever had. Even josh johnson leads the marlins in every single pitching category and was dominant for a good stretch. Hell even d train had a better run then jose. Id take anyone of of those guys having beast cards before jose

Completely agree about the 2nd part.
Just based on skill, ya, Fernandez could have been amazing. I was a fan. He was dominant in his 2 healthy seasons. But he didn't pitch much.
Josh Johnson, Kevin Brown, Josh Beckett, Dontrelle Willis, Anibal Sanchez all did more..
Also, Jose would have been a Dodger most likely the following year.. he was not staying in Miami

Totally blanked on kevin brown somehow, his prime card would be really cool. Thank you for bringing him up! Id take any of brown, beckett, willis, burnett, johnson before jose. He couldve been incredible, its sad and too bad we never got to see more.

Honestly I could see the cardinals going to get him truthfully. I’m not biased here, but how things were in place at the time they were primed to get him.

It would be cool to have his card, it would cause a huge controversy though. He was drunk and killed 2 others as well so people will be offended if he is in the game. I'm still disappointing in that accident and others still can be.
