Get to 750 again, swinging a pool noodle again

And everyone up there spends so much time and money on the game that there diamond or prestige with all the collections done that you can’t win. I played 5 games and lost all 5 because the lowest level I play was a diamond level 50 and I didn’t see one team without trout today
-
I played 3 games and won 2 last night. It just wasn't fun. Every game was the same bs:
Mantle, Cap, Biggio, Sheffield, Kluber, Trout. Mantle, Biggio and Sheffield are so much better than everyone in the game.
Pitch speeds were strange. Not HOF, All star strange but different
Pitch recognition was almost non-existent
Felt like I was hitting with a pool noodle. Poor hit results on good/good+.
Seemed to hang more balls
PCI was jumpy
There was plenty more including baserunning and fielding issues. Now, these things also happen down in the 400 ranks too, just much more prevalent the higher you go. Maybe I would enjoy the game at that level if I lived in Florida, New York or one of the many other places to get [censored] internet. Then again, maybe hitting slow pitch softball and getting rewarded for nearly every time I contact the ball would get stale. -

Once again, get to this level you may as well just quit out. 6 walks and 5 hits. Maybe I should have walked more to get people on 3rd so my good/good better swings could have drove someone in with a ground out or routine fly ball. Game is way funner in the 4-500's even with silver, bronze and gold players.
If I stay here, maybe I can face Kluber 20 more times since people throw him every game or two. Up at this level I think he is the only pitcher in the game. Just another reason to drop so I can actually see different pitchers.
I just made Division Series, 715 rating I think, am I still on All-Star? When does it jump to HOF, 750?
-
Although I do sometimes agree with your statements about the connections in this game, I do legitimately wonder why it is you still play this game. I mean, the game feels like drag to me at times and frustrates me for various reasons and whenever that happens, I just take a break from it. But with you I genuinely have the idea it's doing you more bad than good. Remember that video games are meant as a pastime and for fun. If the fun is turning into anger and frustration, I would honestly stop playing and focus on something else that doesn't put a mental burden on me.

Game is on HOF if both you and your opponent are ranked 700. If you or your opponent was say 699, the game would be all star.

I’m almost at this point myself. I love the game but it’s gotten me so frustrated lately

There's no shame in acknowledging this and walking away. I also only played 34 RS games this year, just enough to make WS and then I just ignore the game mode. That's making me happier than to keep on playing a game I get frustrated over.

Got it, so should I sub out Trout and other low-vision players if my game ends up being on All-Star? I could throw Gwynn in for Trout.
Just trying to be prepared on how to adjust.
I will say, the switching difficulties is one of my biggest gripes with this game. It's already hard enough to deal with:
-
Connection variations
-
Different types of pitchers / users using those pitchers in different ways / pitching combos
-
Sprinkle in some RNG / general "its just baseball moments"
Do we really have to throw in the wrench of difficulties changing based on your opponent as well?
Just seems like its a totally different game. Annoying.

I have to do different things to make it fun. I dropped down to 400 last weekend and had a good time using different cards. Doing dailies and such. Also tried some different cards. For instance, I tried Corbin and gave up 7 runs in the first inning. Game gets super stale with the connection issues and no lineup diversity. Once you get to like 600, everyone has cap, mantle, trout, sheffield and biggio, you also face Kluber every 1-2 games and connections you find up there all make the game miserable. Game is much more fun on the lower levels and not caring about winning or losing. Without dropping down and trying different cards, I would have stopped this game a while ago. It is the worst RS game play I have seen.
-
I’m not ashamed at all. I’m disappointed. I know I’m not the best hitter. But I am [censored] good at pitching. In years past pitching is what won me games in RS. It frustrates the hell out of me now that I can still strike out a player 15 times in a game, but lose 7-5 because a curveball or slider that I have aimed in the dirt that I get a good analog Feedback on ends up miraculously hanging over the middle of the plate and gets crushed for 6-7 solo HRs

^ THIS.
I got my most frustrated when playing multiple ranked games. Recently I only play 2-3 a week, and only when I'm hyper focused and ready for the B.S.
As a result, I don't rage quit, I just try and make the comeback. I'm like 8-2 in my last 10 and made Division Series for the first time.
Less is more in terms of online play in this game. Thankfully this event was fun to play to prestige my mantle, stress free.

The connection issues are what makes this game miserable. You will never convince me this isn't the single biggest problem in the game. The game isn't coded for sinkers to look like 120 mph, for Trout to run right by a ball without the animation kicking in, for baserunners not to move or a plethora of other issues you would see disappear with ping based match making.
You would get used to the speed difference in HOF and all star very quickly if it was consistent. This game is far from consistent though. I will say Kluber is tough on HOF especially with the connection issues so I would use high contact, high vision over low vision guys.

I’m hoping the ps5 processing power as well as new modern technology can help with this. I think a lot of people have high speed internet that is capable of making good connections. But It really comes down to SDS making their own servers to host the games. P2P is what causes the bad connections

It won't change with the PS5. The majority of gamers have [censored] internet. That is simply a fact of life. The only way it changes is by ping based match making. SDS hasn't done it yet and it should have been done years ago.
Although people like rebel would push back because he would not be 250-10, a lot of people's game would improve probably increasing the amount of revenue.

Addiction is a serious mental condition and I’m not saying this lightly or in a joking fashion. Look at what people “allow” drugs or gambling to do to them and their lives. If you think this game isn’t addicting your lieing to yourself, that’s all the explanation you need. You’ve been on this board for years and have seen this from demise for years and years. He seems like a smart dude , who just needs to find balance or drop an addiction that is hurting him. I would argue that the game , and most games are designed from the core to BE addicting to the “user” that makes the “dealer” more
Money. It’s a common concept for economics and I am not fond of it , but I do love baseball and this game , this year especially w no baseball, and admit I show signs of addiction myself -

I am fine. What baffles me is that this issue hasn't been addressed. Most games these days have ping indicators and/or ping based match making. Yet a game where you have ms to hit a pitch does not.
I only buy a game or two a year most years. I immerse myself into those games. PUBG was that game for almost 3 years but I haven't played much and took a month long break. My friends no longer play due to performance issues in that game and the infestation of cheaters partly because PUBG does not encrypt their data. Extremely incompetent on their part.
-
I'm going to be honest I had a stretch last night where my opponents lost connection in the first inning and while it helped give me some confidence back after a long losing streak knocking me from CS to PR (yeah it was that bad) I just felt dirty getting wins off of connection issues
-
Game is horrible. That is all

You're in purgatory man, you may not know it yet, but this is the toughest hurdle to climb IMO because you are going to be going back and forth between AS and HOF due to being so close to 700. Once you rank up even higher, more and more of your games will be on HOF and it's much easier getting settled in.
-
The low 700s in Ranked are far and away one of the worst places to be in this game. I've been bouncing back and forth between DS and WC. I win almost every game in WC but when I get to DS I almost always face Kluber backed by an absolute god squad with Mantle, Biggio, Sheffield, Trout, etc. and end up losing and it's just back to WC. It's so unbelievably frustrating that I can't really compete since I don't spend money or countless hours on the game to reach prestige and get all the insane cards that DESTROY me in DS and likely beyond if I could ever get there...
