Posted on here a few weeks ago about pitchers in moments frequently walking users. Doing the Honus moments and have been stuck on the 3 hits/1 XBH for a long time since Flaherty walks me on 4 not even close pitches at least once every game. Again, I understand they're not going to be grooving pitches right down the middle, but PLEASE make it so the CPU isn't actively pitching around 50 power Honus Wagner with nobody on and 2 outs early in the game...

As has been expressed on this site before, the outlier quirk is pretty ridiculous. I understand guys like Hicks, Pearson, Kopech CAN reach 102, but by no means SHOULD BE doing it pitch after pitch for 7+ innings. Absolutely ridiculous players can spam 102 MPH fastballs for an entire game with minimal repercussions.

Must be nice. I’ve opened over 100 packs today and have one gold to show for it.
Haven’t pulled Trout since 2017. But I read people on here pulling him 5 times and you getting him from a gold pack. Congrats though.

Ooh man, I saved up a bunch of packs (~150) and opened them the other day. Had a little better luck with about 6-7 golds but packs are the absolute worst. Not sure how people are pulling Trout multiple times and I can't even get one diamond from 150 packs...

Going to post this here. Let's try to keep all discussion about 1.09 in this thread.
Okay, but both of these "glaring gameplay fielding issues" are still happening regularly. The patch went up less than a week ago and I can think of at least a dozen instances since then where fielders have worn a fly ball on their face because of no catch animation or ran straight over the ball. This has cost me multiple games over multiple modes and needs to be addressed immediately.

I personally prefer they leave it as is.
But what if there was a limit of outlier pitches you can throw ? Say 15 and you can launch it at any time during the start?
I really like this idea, make people pick and choose when they want to give it that extra effort. Much like guys probably do in, you know, real life...
Was just watching Javy's tag on Mondesi and was thinking how they could implement a tag rating. I know this is probably not possible as there's no stats to base ratings off of, but it would be cool to somehow quantify a player's tagging ability.
Has anyone heard of such a stat? I looked into it and didn't see anything, probably because it's such a small part of the game. In theory, it could be cool to see Javy Baez slapping those disgustingly quick tags down while other guys are much slower.

I'm an NL All-Time and MLB All-Time game away from Ruth. Only lost one game to this point knocks on wood so hopefully I'll have him by tonight. Like other people said I feel kinda behind on getting him even though I know most players haven't pushed through the absolute grind it is to get him. The player rewards have all been worth it so far though, and I'm saving my packs to open all at once and hoping I can pull something good to make some progress on MVP Trout.

Don't know WHEN but we know HOW...
- when better options appear and people start trading in their bosses for the new guys (Griffey? Gehrig?)
- massive market crash that takes down EVERYTHING
- in last year's 11th inning, they re-released the 6th Inning Boss pack with Griffey/Piazza/Jackie. From what we've seen so far, the 5th is the one most likely to get re-released this year.
With how good all the 5th inning bosses were, I would not mind a re-drop later this year. If I'm remembering correctly, a lot of people liked that idea last year so I don't see why SDS wouldn't do it again. Love how accessible the great cards are every year.
@RICH_chocolate52 said in 5th Inning Bosses:
I would think mainly a supply problem. Now that we are in the 6th inning, it is harder to for any "new" players to attain enough 5th inning program stars to get more supply of bosses out into market. Whereas, until sixth inning ends, more players are completing that program and earning those bosses. Given that there are so many good cards, higher ranked players may be selling sixth inning bosses for stubs.
In my opinion, you may see slight price decreases in the short term on 5th inning bosses, but they may be expensive for a little while longer
Gotcha, sounds like it was just perfect timing for the 5th inning bosses to skyrocket in price by becoming unavailable right after TA3 dropped. Still hoping they go down sometime soon but I guess I shouldn't hold my breath.
Is there any reason why the 5th inning bosses are now going for more than the 6th inning bosses? These cards have gone WAY up in price since the TA3 release/market crash, and are now ~135k, which is ~15k more than the current bosses... Been waiting for Walker and Rivera to go down in price but they just keep going up. While I'm at it, when should we expect them to go down? Not exactly a market-savvy player if that wasn't already obvious.
@AGENTSxOFxCHAOS said in 5th Inning Bosses: Where do they settle:
I know these questions are kind of 'opinion based'; but it looks like theyve gone up in the past week.
Come Thursdays stream (s long as they confirm the leak) they may rise more.
I have all three now (n my main acct) and wanted to get all 3 for my secondary acct; but since I'm trying not to buy stubs on that acct; as of now I'd need 200K+ to get all 3.
Where do you see these settling? Based oon where the settle will determine if I continue building my secondary team or just buckle down and stay on my main acct.
There are some weird things happening with the three 5th inning boss prices. When TA3 was released, I saw them all drop to ~80k but never much lower. Thought (hoped) they would drop another 10k-20k but they went up to 100k and been steady there over the last few days. Hoping the price goes down when 6th inning bosses release but I really don't know what to think with these cards anymore...

I guess if they fix it Hicks will start hitting 104 and 105 on occasion. Does that sound better?
As long as he isn't doing it an unrealistic amount I'm all for it. I'm not as worried about the relievers who can do that cause they (usually) aren't pitching for more than an inning or two, and it's their job to come in and throw as hard as possible. My problem is guys pumping 102 every pitch for 3/4 of the game, something I don't think an actual human body could even handle.

@The_Joneser said in PLEASE fix the Outlier Quirk:
So you’re complaining because you only hit two home runs off of the starter, scoring four, in a game you won by nine? If someone is having success with a certain pitch (I wouldn’t call four given up success), then what’s the problem with that? Should you be able to hit everything the other player throws? When does all of this grousing end? When every well timed swing results in a home run and “superior” players with way too much time on their hands get to put up thirty runs every game?
Not saying I should be able to hit everything the other player throws, it just seems unbalanced the way it is right now when people can get away with throwing fastball after fastball because it's coming so fast you can barely see it. The only reason I was able to hit him was cause I was anticipating and basically swinging when the ball came out of his hand. I don't mind high fastballs in the slightest, they're a great way to throw off timing and beat hitters. My problem lies in that some abuse the system and get away with it without having to work for anything. Also, I just find it incredibly unrealistic for a guy to throw 102 every pitch for even 3 innings in a row, nevermind 7+
