I quit playing mlb about a month ago, and I'm trying to get back into things, but what is this ducks on the pond thing?

A new pack. Looks similar to the Signature Choice pack we had last year.

35,000 or whatever for a pack with an almost guaranteed chance you pull a card going for less than 20k on the market

Basically if you have good pack luck then roll the dice...If you’re like me that pulls 1 or 2 diamonds a year - Run the other way as fast as possible.

I would agree on regular packs like headliners, but these packs are worth it, maybe. I wait to see what the market is like for the top tier and who’s in it obviously. I don’t buy them right away, but I will buy both a few days after it’s released. Chances are the top teir will have great cards going for over 100k and the base teir won’t be that bad of a loss. 1:4 is worth the gamble unlike headliners that are 1:10 diamond and that diamond could be a 5k quicksell. With these packs your guaranteed to get the cards in the pack all likely 95+ diamonds
