It's time to fix the Showdown once and for all
-
Showdown is a broken mess right now.
1.Fix the draft process. If I already have a SP and a Closer I don't want to see a single SP and Closer for the rest of the draft.Give me positions of need not the ones I already have.I should not have to have a common catcher all the way to the final showdown.
2.Don't make Showdown easier make it fair.We all know Showdown cheats. From perfect pitcher control,CPU platinum gloves and our perfect perfect hits being nerfed while CPU power is put on 100.Stop the cheating and make it fair.Put it on All Star if you have to but make it fair.
3.Make moments better.Hit a HR with your squad is not a good moment. It's RNG based.Because of Showdown cheating you might hit 5 perfect perfect fly balls and not one of them will go for a HR.
4.Suggestion:Give us Showdown with our own squad.Same principle as regular showdowns you draft your own silver players, then gold, then diamond and make it count towards team affinity innings.

Showdown is not a broken mess. It's also pretty easy. Just because you can't win every time doesn't mean its broken

I haven't lost a showdown in more than a month but it still cheats. If you can't see that you are blind

If that's true, then why this thread? With all due respect, I don't think I agree with any of your arguments.
I do have some legitimate advice for you though, coming from my years of experience playing (and winning) BR:
The first 2 positions you look to draft are the shortstop and the catcher position. It's harder to find quality bats at those two positions compared to the rest of the positions. Having a common catcher throughout the showdown is your own fault, a result of bad draft decisions.Edit:
I'll give you an example:
In a silver round the following guys are available:
Joc Pederson, Roberto Perez, Rhys Hoskins, Miguel Sano.I guarantee you 80% of the players would pick one of the 3 sluggers in this sequence and completely ignore Roberto Perez. That's a mistake, because the chances that a decent catcher will show up in your draft while playing the showdown are significantly smaller than some big bat LF/3B/1B. Learn from this.

I personally enjoy the showdowns, even if you don’t beat them the packs and stubs are worth it. Also it’s a great way to get XP quickly. I agree that there is some BS going on with CPU defense, pitch speeds ect. but it’s not supposed to be a cupcake show up and participate get an award gamemode.

I always draft the best player available if I can put him in the lineup

Here you go again b*tching about showdown. “Haven’t lost a showdown in more than a month” .. let’s stop ya right there. Unreal how you’re supposedly winning in showdown & yet you’re still complaining, “but it cheats”.
This is literally a thread essentially saying I deserve to win showdown runs every single time & every time I put the bat on the ball it should be crushed. Since that’s not what happens, the mode is “cheating”.

Well there's your mistake.

There are definitely things that can be improved with it.
I made a thread after my 4th inning run. I had won the last moment before the final boss. My reward was finally a diamond player and what choice does the game give me?????
Four diamond starting pitchers!!! You don't pitch in the final Moment so there was no point in offering me pitchers at that point.

I win the vast majority of the showdowns I play. The secret, be patient, obviously. The more times you get the PCI on the ball the higher the success rate. That being said, the biggest issue or what I think OP is saying is that half the time it feels like you are not even playing. P/P outs and then Good/Okay no doubters all at very convenient times for the sake of suspense. Some go your way, some don’t.

That may be true in a vacuum but most missions are so short and/or offensively-based that you can put a position player in at C or hit him 8 and PH so Perez is usually suboptimal

Not to OP apparently, since he specifically mentioned the frustration of having to go through the showdown with a common catcher.

Meh, I just put one of my regular hitters at catcher. They catch anything in the zone. Keep the common catcher on the bench in case u need a defensive replacement. Draft power, as you get contact perks. Down the middle perk boost is best one outside of the losing perks as on veteran u get 1-2 meatballs an at bat. Showdown is fun, no changes needed outside of the changes needed for all hitting and fielding in all modes

Honestly, they can’t possibly dumb these down any more than they just did

It really went from
"Holy crackers I can't even get past the second boss half the time"
to
"Holy crackers I can't imagine a world where I fail a showdown" -

The divisional showdowns were perfect imo

I hate posts like this. They take away credibility when someone posts about serious problems with the mode.
