Potm out of position stats

So I'm playing gavin lux at ss and I think the hit extra bases with short stops mission isn't counting cause hes originally 2nd and technically out of position for me. Am I crazy and the stats haven't counted yet? Or is this a thing? And if so, how cheesy.

They have to have primary position as ss

Stats need to be acquired by SS. Gavin Lux isn't a SS. What's so cheesy?

It's definitely a thing. The good news is that if you're upset with this being "cheesy" you can cheese the game right back and put a SS primary in any other position and have multiple players contribute towards your mission. Most SS can play either 2nd or 3rd and some can even play the outfield as a secondary position.
