Bunting is a valide tactic

It can be defensed, so it’s fair.

I love to duck off with bunt cheese

Bunting to lead off a game with 2 strikes and 99 Mickey Mantle is a disgrace. Squeezing with 99 Tatis and the bases loaded is more of a disgrace. Both of these happened to me today.

Now that is a big yikes. I only ever drag with Mondesi vs RHP, Jackie, or Cobb. Everyone else swings. I also don't bunt unless I'm behind or in a tied game, I try not to bunt early so I can take advantage of the bunt later in the game.

Shoot, I barely won my last RS game against a bunter. He has Mondesi and Cobb as his lead off and #2. Mondesi reached with a bunt. He stole 2nd. Pretty sure Cobb also reached with a bunt.
He knocked 1 run in on a blooper. 0-1 with 2 outs, I struck him out in the dirt.... throwing error.Next pitch... 3 run homer to make it 0-4 in the 1st.
So in the 8th, my first 2 batters reach base. I decide to fight fire with fire and drag with Rollins with 2 outs to load the bases.
Next pitch, Griffey grand slam to tie it up.I go on to hit a 2 run HR with Mantle for the win.
Moral of the story.... I’m not going to bunt like that unless my opponent is. Did I earlier in the year? Maybe.... am I proud of that? No lol.

It’s cheesy only because the fielding is broken and it’s basically exploiting a glitch. I’ve had two opponents reach base with 40-something speed (I think Thome and Frank) on dribblers in front of the catcher this week. Not because I did anything wrong, just because the fielders have no urgency whatsoever.

Bunting is cowards!!
