Decided to jump in some ranked today and 2 games in a row I play the most salty, toxic and miserable people in the community it seems.
Yes, I declined your friendly quit offer. You're looking for a game to play, so play. All these guys made it their mission to make my life miserable for declining the friendly quit. Taking minutes to wind up between pitches, pausing for a minute and a half every inning, stepping off, throwing over to first base 5 times in a row while I don't even take a lead. I don't know if these shenanigans ever works out for anyone, but if anything it only gets me juiced up to absolutely obliterate you. I honestly don't understand why people are so toxic, salty and miserable. Just play the darn game man. Such a turn off to play like this every single game.
Had a guy decide to watch a replay of his two run HR Saturday which came in the top of the first. Think I ended up with 6 HR's in a 12-3 win and watched every one of them.
I get a lot fewer friendly quit requests since I tanked my RS record and quit out like 30 games so far.
I literally get a FQ offer every game. I haven't played RS all that much but I'm 17-1, prestige level 68 and I got the 12-0 banner with goat bat skin. Nobody wants to play when they see either one of those things it seems. If I would accept every FQ, I'd never play a game before I reach WS.
While I get loving the flair, but you could just take them down and “blend in” and you would not get as many fq’s. The record itself isn’t as intimidating as the rest of the things you mentioned. Often times I don’t even look at record to avoid preconceived notions as we all have good days and bad, slumps and streaks.
I hear what you're saying, but I feel like that's a little bit backwards. I'm proud of those accomplishments so I wanna show them, just like the top 50 players do. I'm not at all unbeatable either, as a matter of fact the first guy of the two took me to extra innings and I barely got the W. He might've actually won if he would've just played the game like a normal person because he really wasn't a bad player. But I really really really didn't wanna lose against him because of all these nonsense toxic things that he did.
I've matched up against top players before like Jerznetwork, z0bliterator, Tapscot and McGunski and my friendly offers to them got declined as well. I take that as motivation to prove they made a mistake and I actually beat the first 3 I mentioned, only took the L against McGunski, while the 3 players I mentioned before him are probably better than me as well. But that's what the game should be about, accepting the challenge and rise above yourself.
Hey man I get it , and I agree with you. I was just saying in regards to you not enjoying getting all the FQ’s and attitude towards not accepting. It might be good to take them down until you get to 800’s you might avoid the nonsense more. More power to you for keeping them up too, but you have to own the responses from people feeling beat before they play and acting like little beaches. Knowing it’s wrong and childish dosent make it stop, you can mitigate it w minimal effort. As those players don’t see your accomplishments as a positive they see it as a brag.
You're right. There is an upside to it as well though. When I'm able score 4 or 5 runs in the first 3 innings, my opponents usually throw in the towel and straight up quit, saving me a bunch of time. I don't want to give that up either.
Ignore him, he is just trolling people now

I'd be totally ok with getting rid of friendly quit. There's really no reason for it. I never get one outside of the very beginning of the game, or after I've put up a few runs.
If a person starts a game, they should play the game. If they wish to leave the game, they should quit and take the L. If the game is 5 innings in and a team is winning but that person has to go take care of something in reality...they also should quit. You don't without playing the whole game. There are totally viable reasons for needing to leave a game early, but not really a single one that warrants another person saying, "Ok...let's let this not count."
I've even gotten messages where someone says something like, "Hey, I have an emergency I have to go take care of." I typically just ignore it and keep playing, and they don't quit...so either they lied or they don't know what an emergency actually is.
Moral of the story...a lot of people who play online are just trash people.
Ironically, based on what you just said, you could be one of them.
There’s plenty of reasons for a FQ. Some brilliant players like to choose an mlb park in full sun to play in.
Maybe a kid woke up crying or a spouse needs something.
It’s a video game. Sometimes real life demands attention.
An MLB park in full sun sucks...but it's not a reason that you should be able to quit. This falls under the same category as choosing your competition. I hate playing in a number of parks, but if I'm not the home team, then I have no control over that.
Real life definitely does demand attention from time to time. If that prohibits a player from completing a 45 minute game, then that sucks, but it's a loss. Why should one player get halfway through a game and have it not count because somebody else has something they have to tend to? I'm not unsympathetic to real life situations, but if it's truly an emergency, then taking the time to send a message begging for an FQ doesn't make sense. Turn off the game. It's that simple.
"It's a video game. Sometimes real life demands attention." I completely agree with, and real life should always come first. If real life interrupts a game, 20-40 points in ranked seasons isn't really too large a penalty.
You know, I don’t disagree with you here. I’ve had things come up and had to leave a game. Nobody is going to accept a FQ in the sixth inning of a ranked game, and honestly, you’re right, in those situations I didn’t have time to be messaging my opponent.
I will say, I had an afternoon game in Turner Field yesterday and I really wish I had not tried to stick it out. I guess this is just another flaw in the game that can be exploited.
Don't get me wrong, I absolutely hate playing in certain parks. I'm sure some people don't realize they're choosing settings that make it hard to see (and therefore play well and therefore enjoy), but I'm sure others choose it intentionally to try and gain an advantage. The thing is, I don't really see how they're doing anything but creating a disadvantage for both players. Maybe they're hoping they can get lucky and can get ahead before the sun goes down...I dunno. Just another desperate attempt for players to gain an advantage.
A few years ago, some players would tweak their colour settings so that they could see the ball better in certain situations like this. It’s pretty lame.
In my case, I just figured my opponent was a Braves fan who didn’t know better. As it turned out, I have my doubts about that.

Some people being forced to play a prestige 68 flying 12-0 banners in 700 ranked division would consider you being toxic for XP grinding a god squad and then force feeding them an [censored] whopping. I’m not saying that’s the case but it’s always good to consider other people’s perspective. Your team is extrodinarliy op for that level, I play a lot of teams w fotf or evolution cards at those levels
First of all, I don't do and never did any "XP grinding" just for the sake of gaining XP. I just play, I don't need that nonsense. The way I reached prestige 68 is by playing showdowns to get all TA programs to 100%. That was the goal, the XP was a nice side effect.
Secondly, my team is good but not "extraordinarily OP" at all. Even in these tiers I run into God squads almost every single game contrary to what you say. And even then; it's not the car, it's the driver.
Thirdly, how can I ever be considered toxic when I HAVE TO climb through the ranks? If it were up to me, I wouldn't wanna play any of these guys either.
And lastly, if you want to play online you're gonna run into players who are better than you and will most likely give you a beatdown. It happens to all of us. If you can't cope with that, you shouldn't be playing online at all and stick to the offline game modes.

Agreed, this is a major reason why I prefer to play offline. I don't need to play a game thats dragged out because my opponent is salty.

There are HRs you just gotta watch. I don’t get mad for replays. I even replay the one I give up sometimes.
No HR is worth replaying, homers are far from rare
I could say the same thing about real life games but they replay them all on TV. There's nothing wrong or trolling about replaying a homer. It's in the game and it's part of presentation. It brings a part of what is enjoyable about offline play (seeing the ball arc and what a HR replay looks like if a team hit one in real life) and brings it to the online experience.

It takes considerably less skill to hit with 99 Mantle than it does Bellinger.

What I'm saying is that I've played guys who had Mantle and co and couldn't hit a baseball if they'd be swinging a truck.

I played game last night! Bad idea cause I was tired! SDS BS error happens next pitch homer! My opponent HR reply! Then he was beating me good u could tell I had no hope of winning ! And this guy replayed every single homer all 4!! I was already in a bad mood so I hit his players! I'm sorry but I can handle 1 HR reply ! Then if I hit one and watch it! That means my opponent can watch the next! But in no way shape or form should anyone watch 2 HRs to 0 . Or 3 to 0. And so on! I'm sorry that is awful. We all just want to play 9 innings and not turn it into 2hr games wow. People who play this game have zero respect !

I sometimes like to look at the good in people. One person asked for a FQ before the first pitch and I was worried he would cheese all game if I declined, so I accepted. I got a PSN message from him a few hours later telling me he had to run to the hospital for his son and thanked me, he could of lied to me but that seems like a lot of effort to lie and he ended up being at 525 when I was only at 440 so he was ranked higher than me too.

Nah. I don’t like giving players an easy out. I’m guessing. 99 percent of the time they’re offering an FQ because they’re scared to get smacked. Most of the time they’ll quit out after a few bombs or runs in the early innings.
I don’t ask for friendlies, so why should I accept them?
-
I think the exception to the rule is the mlb stadiums during the day. I’m sure SOME of my opponents do this inadvertently, but the ones that know what they are doing are the ones who will deny your FQ.

Ranked needs a serious overhaul. The fun has been sucked out of it unfortunately
