I feel like this happens to me every year but this year it seems worse. I’ve been having a tendency to move my pci laterally away when I only want to go vertically up or down. As a consequence, I’m toast on inside pitches and g/o or g/w over the middle third. On top of that, I’ve also been greatly exaggerating the movement of my PCI. As an example, with a fastball in top middle box I will overshoot and move my pci all the way above the zone resulting in a ground ball. Same with low pitches, I get under them bc I move it too low and pop up meatballs. Any advice is appreciated.

Kontrol freeks could help. Also it's worth checking to see if you have some dead zone issues on your left stick, maybe the analog stick is worn down and therefore inaccurate. Another thing could be to try and stop slamming the PCI towards the area you want to be, if you're currently doing that.

If you didn't do any of this, you'd be top 50.. it's quite common.
I'm not a great hitter by any means, but I find what helps me is I lift my pci slightly just before a pitch, so I have control of the stick.. I try to relax as to not jam the PCI last second.. I also try to cut out parts of the zone once I feel I'm reading the opponent's tendencies

Oh and I’ll also, for some crazy reason, move the pci down as a reflex even though I know I don’t need to. That grinds my gears.

Jamming down at the last second is most people's problem. Super common.
You may just be doing too much.. do less

This is what I do too...I also seem to be able to pull the PCI down no problem before i swing, but on balls up in the zone I always seem to Swing a fraction of a second before I try to move the stick up so it doesn't move my PCI.
