This game is dumb now. They made hitting way easier so now more random hits fall but good contact didn’t change in that it still means nothing.
I hit 3 Homers today that were either “early, weak” or “late, weak.”
PCI was nowhere near the ball. It doesn’t even feel good to score on those.

I’ve had more good/okays today on perfect placement than I’ve seen in the last month. I want to puke it’s so gross.

But....But.... they fixed hitting

Careful, don't criticize the game or the mods will move this thread.

Haha I’m not sure if I’ve just had awful luck today, or if this is a sign of what we’re going to be dealing with because of enlarged pci’s and larger timing windows, but getting good/okay on perfect placement 8 times in a 9 inning friendly, and have 2-4 every event game is brutal (AS difficulty)
But hey, AS is garbage anyway, so what should I expect?
I will say my 1 hall of fame game didn’t seem too bad.
-
The issue is probably the larger PCI. I honestly hit better on allstar than I do rookie or veteran because of the bad feedback on squared up balls.

Which is why I don’t get enlarging it. In the hall of fame game I played I had 12 runs on 15 hits in 8 innings. Seems much more rewarding for good input.
-
They didn't fix fielding. These developers must not even play the game. You play for an hour and you will see many fielding errors.
-
Literally just had a 15 PCI and a 97 exit velo go down as good / good

Yeah I questioned that part of the patch notes as soon as I saw it. At least the timing window seems to be a change for the better.

I hit a perfect/perfect line drive on a 99 mph fastball and it came off the bat as a 92 mph routine liner to the CF.

Mine was a soft liner to SS.

I gave up a 400ft+ bomb to an early/good swing...the guy had 74 power. Reggie's good/squared up/104MPH couldn't even reach 350Ft. PCI is bigger, but the random is still king.

Man... the problem is they did nothing to fix the “good, ok.” Making a PCI doesn’t Help that it makes it worse, because more balls will be barreled up now resulting in negative exit velos; it also means more balls will be weakly hit, and with how the game plays, those bleed for hits.
Timing window was a good improvement, but that was just stupid. -
I somehow hit a L/L home run off Newhouser with Gregorious, who I believe has a 71 rating vs. LHP. I was shocked. My righty power hitters couldn’t touch him.

I wish I had a clip of this.
Arenado (99/99 power) vs a 102mph Chapman fastball right down the middle... perfect/perfect feedback... 98mph warning track fly ball.
I honestly haven’t seen this yet from a high power guy. This can’t be real.
I had a ball with prestige mantle today vs newhouser (125/105 I believe) perfect perfect landed in the grass before the track, 100 mph fastball, 99 mph flyball

In my friendly earlier today on AS, I hit 3 balls off oswalt with mantle dead center pci and got good/okay on all 3. 3 lazy fly balls.
The arenado one I just had though DEFINITELY takes the cake because it gave me the perfect feedback on a 102 mph fastball. While my opponent hit a down and in sinker with bellinger off Chapman over the wall in left center (I’d consider that just late on timing). I was actually laughing haha.

I know they said hr/9 is off, but there is some sort of thing at work. If I’m being honest, I have screenshots of every time a mantle flyball was dead center pci and not a home run, and it’s annoying. If you’re gonna give us powerful cards, let them be powerful.

I just think the consistency needs to be there. Like how can a center cut fastball (1st pitch right after I hit a perfect/perfect bomb with yelich off Chapman) have a lower EV with a guy who has 99 power off righties, while a sinker down and in can get taken out to left center by a guy who had less power vs lefties than arenado. Just makes 0 sense.
