Advice on hitting?

I just faced off Ohtani and managed to scratch out 2 hits and a whopping 14 strike outs lol. I have been plying the game for a month now but prior to that I haven’t played in years. I’m up to Wild Card in the season sitting at 18-13, just need advice on how you guys go about pitch recognition and timing

Try different hitting views. I switch between TS 15 view and retro when I struggle.
