Doesn’t seem like there were as many new legends this year as previous, maybe there were. It seems we’ve been averaging around 30 for the past 3 years. Here is a list of the 2020 new legends https://forums.theshownation.com/topic/1836/new-legends-in-2020?_=1589159819500. This is a pre season list. Dwight Evans added, not sure who else

Honus was a card hidden in the game that someone found the card art for while going through the offline rosters.
Since SDS has been telling us outright that their focus for this year is players from the 1990's and 2000's, I wouldn't be surprised if we see 40-40 Alfonso Soriano. He was a talented enough player that people of varying play styles would get excited for, but he wouldn't have been a big enough draw (such A-Rod, Randy Johnson, Pedro, Jeter, etc.) to sell units on his own merit.
Personally, I think the biggest surprise Legend would be a return of Ichiro. The game just feels incomplete without him.
I know when I think of Honus Wagner level players, Alfanso Soriano is who comes to mind.

I do t think it would be hank Arron. Too iconic of a player to lock behind a collection wall that most will not be able to access early on. I could see someone on the Pedro / Jeter level being the guy, or a juiced version of Andruw Jones / Jorge Posada.

Alfonso Soriano? Granted he would be good in this game because he's just power and speed, but he's garbage at everything else and no legend
Well, I agree that Soriano is no Honus Wagner, but few from the time period they are highlighting can be. Still, he was a serviceable 2B and as a LF his defense can't be too much of a liability. He had some solid if not fantastic years. 40-40 is nothing to sneeze at, and I don't think the MLB or MLBPA would approve of the only other player who achieved it being placed prominently in the game.

It, for sure, will be a Future Prospect with fantasy stats card.
