Anyone else bored of the content?

I’ve never reduced playing any ultimate team mode this quickly. Just seems like there’s not much to work towards that isn’t extremely repetitive.
Inning bosses are meh... I like the slow release of 99s but pretty lackluster choices this inning.
Future Stars is doing showdowns dozens of times.
Events is just playing the same teams over and over for mediocre rewards.
Ranked series is just Kluber and Newhouser every game.
Other than that it’s just Braves players everywhere.
I don’t know. I usually skip a year between games like this and didn’t do that this year, so maybe that has something to do with it.
Anyone else kind of feeling the same?

I think people had expectations that were way too high for content. I think people wanted it to be better than 19, which is just not going to happen. I agree with the braves players. However, I don't blame SDS for Kluber and newhhouser. There will be cards that are better than them in a month or two (hopefully). Even if it is annoying, we were the ones who wanted there to be pitcher selection rather than roulette.
-
The fact that there is no real baseball (sports in general) or anything else to do in the world right now may add to being bored! Previous years I would take nights off playing, but it's hard this year because there is nothing else to do. I agree with the RS issue (don't give everyone the best 2 pitchers in the game for free in the reward path!) and that only Braves players are getting released!
-
I agree with the statement about content. Ever since 16 we had different ways of unlocking cards. Even though I never went through the immortal grind of 18, that was still different. Last year i enjoyed the 1st - 11th inning program, i though it was creative and completed all 11, that being said I completed it 11 times. It sucks they copied and pasted the exact same program this year, it was annoying getting 300 stars by 8th inning last year doing the same thing over and over, now we have the showdown, but the 3rd inning showdown took me 45 minutes to complete, now its just waiting for programs and dailies bc im not paying 90k stubs for cards that do not make my lineup and i cannot quick sale. I wish they would have came up with a different way to unlock cards instead of doing the same as last year.

I personally think we need more stat missions.
I know I will get ripped by the online only elitists for even mentioning this, but this is the way I feel. And we do have online stat missions by the way.
I have lost interest in online play, it just doesn't feel like baseball. The only way to score runs is on a HR, its not that 100% of the time, but it sure as heck seems that way. -
There needs to be more stuff that can be done incrementally. Showdown is fun, but its a major time sink. It's all or nothing. With stat grinds or even last years moments you could sit down for 10 minutes, knock out a mission or 2, and see your program stars go up, maybe get a reward or something.

Agreed. When they do a content release, I rush to get it done. Then I'm bored until the next content release. I know people will hate my opinion, but I do miss stat grinds.

For example if it says get 100 hits with player A online, you could easily make that 200 hits offline stat grind.

One thing that's missing is the incentive to use your diamond dynasty team outside of Ranked seasons. That would make offline grinding for cool cards to build out a team to help beat a mode that further improves your team would be cool.
Another thing is I HATE that Requirements are innings played instead of Plate appearances. There is zero incentive to try to pour it on your opponent in conquest now because you only get credit for 3 innings no matter what. I feel like a game where you can put up x amount of runs and therefore PAs should be rewarded. Add a difficulty multiplier to ensure you're not just beating up on teh CPU on rookie

The content is okay. It’s still early but I don’t like the fact it’s harder to get the content. For example. I’m not good enough to beat showdown. I’m pretty bad tbh. So now in the inning program I do t have all the individual moment to gain points. I’ll likley never get to 300. And will most likley go back to playing OR only. It sucks

I also suck at showdown. But I was able to get the 300 pts without it in the 2nd inning program.
You need to do all of your offline daily missions. That is almost 120 pts alone (30 days x 4 pts a day). You also need to do the player programs, we should get 2 programs at 20 pts each for a total of 40.
That gets you to 160, more than half way there. You will also pick up usually 1 star a day doing the daily, that gets us to 190.
The rest is just doing conquest, knocking out a collection if you can.
Look a the online stuff also. If you get beat, who cares as long as you progress the mission. The 70 pts helps, but you can get 300 without showdown.
And I am a painfully average player. -
Ok the content is being released like it is due to last year. They had great cards then released mediocre cards late. Start slow and build up. Hell the majority of my team is future stars because they are the best available in certain positions. The 99’s will come and it’s gonna be worth the wait, as long as they fix the game
-
Yea it’s about ran it’s course for me. If I wasnt working from home i probably would have stopped logging in a week or two ago.
A lot of stuff to do and some cool cards but I can only play the same thing for so long. I like what they did with showdown but I don’t know how much longer I want to play it lol.
-
I'm very bored. I feel like there's very little to work towards rn. The only good high end cards rn are obtained by collections or through the xp path. It felt like there were other ways to get good cards last year and that just isn't the case this time. It makes the game boring once you grind out a few hundred levels and finish the collections. The only way to improve my team at this point is grinding out 99 Thames or JRam from prestige and that's just not worth it imo. Especially now that XP gains are reduced.
-
I've got so bored with it I almost sold my PS4 last week. It's pretty much the only game I play on PS4 with exception of the exclusives but those have ran their course for the PS4. FPS games I play on PC and X1X. The game has been out 6 weeks so I'll remain patient.

Well don't rush to get it done, savor it.
The problem is..
- .Everyone is home and playing non stop
- There is no season to use for content.

Here’s the issue. I keep banging on about this as well. In fact I sent an email last year suggesting something, anything, outside of RS to use your cards in, even if it was offline, with rewards like BR at incremental stages. Instead, we got moments where you mostly can’t use your DD cards and team, Showdown, where you can’t use your DD cards and team and MTO where you can’t use your DD cards and team aaaaaand nothing else. Now RS is totally broken for the most part, there’s no reason at all to have a DD team really.
Why not add a 9 inning game mode vs CPU where you play on increasing difficulty levels and earn rewards for win streaks and cumulative targets, not dissimilar to offline RS? Why not add a 3 inning mode offline like BR, where you draft a team from all your available DD cards and lock that team in for the duration of your run and try to hit a streak target of 12-0 or 20-0 to earn rewards vs cpu? Why not add a “skins” mode where you can play one off games online, with a nominal entry fee like 1500 stubs and the winner takes home 2500 stubs and SDS tax 500 stubs off the top? Why not add a few long game missions like we’ve seen in previous titles, such as hit 250 home runs with Breakout player cards to earn this diamond breakout card for your team, thereby keeping different card types from your collection relevant and in your team, which we’ll allow you to complete online or offline, of course. Why not do something, anything at all, to make use of all the great cards we’ve collected? Because it’s too simple. I’m not a game dev and I can spew these ideas out all day long. -

Yes i feel the same although i was 1000000% excited to get this and play it. The horrible state this game is in doesnt help either with the repetitive boredom.

I'm not "bored" per se, but I do play less, but that's because I don't find ranked that fun to play anymore, so I'm mostly just doing showdowns at this point. I also don't really have any players I "need" to get, my team is already basically the best it can be outside prestige reward path cards.

@eatyum Have you noticed that ranked has become an HR fest?
I either hit the ball at someone or its over the fence.
